First grow - GG#4 - amazing grow experience - chopped 4-5 days ago and hung inside tent - on hangers left about 6-12 inches of stem on each piece - got weird hay smell bc buds were suuuuuuper sticky and long stems freshly cut - lowered RH and increased airflow of fan - not directly on buds - the buds feel super crunchy outside and sliiightly bouny inside still - buds not sticky gorilla glue any more :( - stems dont fully snap - they 1/2 bend 1/2 snap on the smaller ones - should I just trim and open jar with humid packs to get them bouncy and mist again? and hopefuly return to massive stickiness - super sad they arent wet as fuck like they were when growing hahaIMG_4895.jpgIMG_4891.jpgIMG_4892.jpgIMG_4893.jpgIMG_4894.jpg

What do yall think I should do? I have the humidifier running underneath and a super light fan pointing toward the wall just to get air moving - also - how much you guys think that is? lol Ive never weighed it before haha im excited - but i want them to be sticky and wet again ahhhh

Well if you didn't do the lamb sacrifice on day 5 you may be fucked.
The little ones may dry a little faster
I would trim some of those and put in a jar and see where the humidity is at in the jar then do the others a couple days later.

Yah? take off small nugs trim and jar w hygrometer and go from there? sweet - fuckin ridiculous this is the hardest part by far of growing - its legit life or death in a matter of minutes and I grew hydro my first time lol should i throw the humidity pack in too?

also - sorry - question for the pros lol ive never rly seen this mentioned in detail but - when i put them in jars, should i completely take the nugs off the stem? or should i just cut the stem above and below the nug and trim it nicely and then jar? that way theres still stem inside the nug or whatever? or should i stfu and stop being crazy and grow more and experiment haha

Just turn the fan down and aim it towards the floor. Then run a warm mist humidifier and keep the tent at 60-65% humidity and around 65f. It will slow down the drying and everything will turn out fine.
When the outside and indoor rh is low you need to add moisture to the air in the drying area. If you don’t everything will dry too quickly. You want to take this part as slow as you can.
Good luck friend!

Hay smell will go after curing. Or mine always has. Just check stems daily. When they snap it is time to jar. And take the smaller dried stuff as done. Leaving the wet , big , buds to finish. Place in a jar with lid on., in dark around 65-70F. Burp every couple of days for the first two - three weeks. Then once a week. Use packs if you have them. But bud needs that burping to bring out real flavors. And packs are for storage in my book. Not curing. A few pounds through my paws of GG Faux and GG4. The older it gets. The better for me. My indoor is almost a year and I'm still burping.

I'm like a kid in a candy store with my bounty and new concentrate skills. But Northern Lights and Snow Temple are my best this run.

In my environment there are no humidifiers. Only dehumid on rare occasion. I use jar humidity compared to actual RH to figure the when and how long to open my jars. Slower but beyond anything boveda and humidity gimmicks have ever produced in my labors.

Put a batch up. Then consume that as you perfect the next one. One time of close to right and you won't be in such a hurry any longer. LMAO..

Best possible results to all.

I chopped early. 13 weeks. Saw a spot of white. No chances indoors. Was an errant cigarette ash to find out. But slow finisher. And typically last, or second bulk, when they look about done.

I dry hang. Then regulate my curing with temp and humidity. I'm slow, old and non profit. Quality of finish is my claim to understanding and reward. Stem snaps in dry? Jar it. Open every other day for two weeks unless high humidity. Then best not. A 4-5 day without opening will slow your progress. But not hurt if dried stems when jarred. That air exchange is crucial to remove off flavors.

yah yah - def got it about the jar popping - but in terms of what you actually put inside - i didnt know if you removed ALL the stems or left a bit. Also - you just blew my mind - again nothing ive ever came across on the web - 2nd or 3rd bulking? wtf? i thought you get a preflower burst - then flower for 8-12 weeks and done. thats not the case?!

I can only say what I have experienced. After I waited for a harvest for once. My buds appear done around week 8-11. Hairs color and shrivel. Nothing really moves. Then more fresh white hair and further swelling for another week or two. Most people chop before this. During the lull.

As for my jarring? I snip individual buds from stem with a bit of a handle on them. "Those stems and seeds we don't need." Discard or compost stems. Only handles for ease of handling without actually handling the bud. Minimize contact and vibration as well. 013.jpg015.jpg

One really nice thing about the warm mist is you don't end up with white mineral dust on everything, the way you do with the cool mist and the ultrasonic types. It leaves the minerals behind in the tank.
And if you are the type to forget to fill them, you can drill holes in the sides of the bottom and place the humidifier in a large shallow plastic storage bin, filling them both. I just use the $14-17 Vicks warm mist model and an inkbird controller. They (the humidifier) last about a year or so.

Oh, and I like to leave the stems fairly intact (depending on the bud structure), no matter what they end up being stored in. And also, once I'm sick of trimming, I will put them away with sugar leaves still on them and trim those later as I need them.
