I decided to take my Fatty up a notch for the flowering phase. I purchased one of these Solacure UVA/B kits to attach to my fixture.

Kit: Two Flower Power bulbs + 2 fixtures (4 ft) + Timer (solacure.com)

Don't get me wrong, I'm very satisfied with the results from the Fatty. However, I just wanted to see if it could be even better with added true UVA/B designed for bud. I'm in early veg on this photo period grow and won't be using this until several weeks from now when it goes into flower.

The kit was easy to attach with zip ties. I'm hoping for added potency and frostier bag appeal.View attachment 4847998View attachment 4847996View attachment 4847997
So I just went in to flower. I'm using these earlier in the cycle than normal.
The flower powers in action.
These are on for approximately 10 minutes before the LED kicks in on the 12 hour cycle. Then running for 15 minutes at the start of every hour thereafter. PXL_20210413_213047477.MP.jpgPXL_20210413_213038198.jpg

So I had some small buds from one of my runs, just that particular strain, so I decided to have it processed for dabs. I got 19% by volume. Now I’ve never tested my weed before but if they pull 19% from mistreated smalls, I’m pretty sure the thc% on the nice buds would have to be much higher. Goes to show what we already know but some doubt, cobs produce high thc content buds.

Not trying to rain on you parade here. But what that 19% represents is not thc content.
That is the ratio of what was returned. Say you give them 1 gram...they then return you .19grams resin.

You need another process to determine how much of that .19 grams is thc.

They look pretty close. At this point it's probably a matter of preference. Seems like things went well for you. During the final week of my RDWC grow I used Flawless Finish and harvested when the trichomes when they were milky looking. I seldom ever get to amber.

trying to decide timber fatty vs or cypress 8 for 5x5 flower
You can't go wrong with either. Quality product all the way. I had the same decision to make. I opted for the Fatty and have not regretted my decision. Right now the Fatty is on sale for $1079. It's a better value from a cost standpoint. Also, you are able to mix and match color spectrum's on the Fatty to get some great reds. Finally, the COB's just have so much penetrating power through the canopy. There is nothing subtle about the Fatty. It is a well crafted, high performance light. The heat from is very manageable given it's wattage. You can contact Timber directly to get help in configuring your light. They are not trying to up sell. They just want you to get the right light for your circumstances.
