timer error- far red stayed on all night for a week

was running 12/12 with 30 min of far red at end of day to try to shave a week
just discovered (weak) far red was on for almost all of night for better part of week

whats this gonna do? potential herms/reversal? whats it gonna do to harvest time? this was week 4-5 (didnt use far red before week 4)

Keep an eye out for bananas

So it sounds like you switched to 24hr lights, or close to it. Maybe except some stunted growth as the plant hormone levels get back to normal. the plant might think to reveg but you since switched back to 12/12. They will live.

Or it will be a good experiment to see what happens. They are Far Reds, maybe the plant won’t recognize it as the type of light to cause issues.

Have you seen any effects for yourself? Id expect mega stretch if you werent allready thru to budding stage.

i would also vote for that the plant didnt recognize it as daylight and its beeing a nice experiment.
week 4-5 is out of stretch mode.
pls share your findings, not many have tried this.
you may had the magic budpump enabled and we wanna know.

some of the ones right under the red def have some stretched out tops, despite already being into mid flower set. looks a little like donkey dicks from heat stress

Probably no worse than a full moon. Would love to hear though. I'm also running far red on a separate timer. It's only about 20 w of light, so no big deal overall. It doesn't even trip the light sensor on my co2 controller.

A week won't affect much, fix the timer & just chug along Coby.... Unstable Homebrew cross? Check private parts I guess.

Was reading a thread awhile back that may help give some info on this...not sure if its true or not, but worth a read maybe.

It might prolonge your flowering period not so long and a bigger harvest .

How can you say week 4-5 is out of stretch mode? You don't know what strain he's growing.

I just had a DJ short strain stretch til week 7

Im running a DJ short cross right now and it completely caught me off guard. It’s 6’4band still growing.

I have some bad experience with a few broken timers and mine mistakes when lights will stay on in flowering.. it mostly was main light.. my plants would "mutate" a bit and grow big but soft buds, needed some extra time. mold could attack more easily. but on some plants wouldn't be any signs..
it should be everything ok with only far red and a week..

ok heres a pic, apart from the ones closest to the far red light stretching and yielding less, some threw weird growth that looked like revegging

something similar i had two times, but both times was everything ok with lights.
for me plant looking like this stayed the same till the end, maybe buds become a tad bigger..

Hope you and your family are doing well. Keep us appraised of your experiences - many folks inquire about the use of far red and it would be good to get anecdotal evidence of what occurs when it is used in larger doses.

I just did a similar fuckup. First time with far red. Had it running 20mins starting end of day.

I didn’t check the timer properly and it was going on again 3 hours after the 20 mins for the rest of the night and day!. Was just the first 3 days of flip from vege to flowering.
Just 1 plant, super cropped, it has stretched , all the fan leaves look like they praising Jesus hands in the air. I also had it in 13 hours day as that’s a possible advantage of far red but I corrected the errant timer and but it back to 12/12 . See what happens I guess! is a gorilla glue clone.
