Tincture with coca cola

Can't hurt. Actually, it sounds good.

You might throw in a little bourbon, too. Or, better yet, make your tinture bourbon. You could have a whole new drink. "The Whelk"!

I mix mine with coffee, Gatorade or water. I've never had a problem in reduced effects. I take a fairly substantial dosage of tincture at 4-6 hour intervals and do not drink booze so the taste really throws me off. Mixed in with coffee and Gatorade I can barely taste it. Water I can tell it's there but it's not bad.

You could try (making or buying) tincture that's made with glycerin instead of alcohol.

I've gotten used to mixing it. In coffee it's not even noticable. I might try the glycerin though just for a test. I've only recently this year began to do tincture and it's quickly become my favorite way to medicate. I need to find a better way, or more accurate way to decarb so that I know I'm maximizing my potency. I'm trying to get a decarb machine but first I'm saving up for a new 5*5 tent. My wife really likes the tincture as well as it allows her to take medicine to work and dose without odor.

Another way is use MCT for tinctures. Make it any strength. I infuse anywhere from 1/4 to one once of decarbed to 1 cup MCT, depending on who it's for. It's almost as tasteless and healthy. There is a high recovery rate with MCT.

If it's for sleep I use an indica (Big Bud or Critical Mass) otherwise sativa for more energetic (Chocolope or Amnesia Haze).

I assume medication?

Yeah, it's for severe pain and muscle spasms. I use 2 ounces and enough everclear to cover it. Then a 5-7 day soak in the dark with a daily shake. I drain, strain then evaporate off about 50% of the alcohol to concentrate the tincture. I'll evaluate the strength and concentrate it down more until I get it to where about 20 drops is a good maintenance dose for 4-6 hours. I pretty much only grow heavy indicas with some hybrids for my wife's nausea problems.

There are several good ways to decarb.

One easy way that's about as good as it gets in the kitchen requires an oven thermometer, meat thermometer, and a Mason jar with a metal lid with a hole for the meat thermometer.

Use your stoves oven temperature as a rough guide but trust yours. 242f for 40 minutes. The more msa you have in the oven the easier to control the temperature. A couple of cast iron skillets help hold heat more constant.

Bring the oven up temperature with jar inside. When it's up put the weed in the jar and back in the oven for 40 minutes AFTER the temperature reaches 242 or close to it.

Thanks for the suggestion. My oven can't seem to hold a steady temp very well. My cheap ass toaster oven seems to do much better based on the oven thermometer I've tried. I'll try the mason jar trick but on its side in the toaster oven on a damp towel maybe. That might be an improvement over the foil packet I've been doing. Thanks again for the idea.

Here is an external pain rub that works almost instantly for arthritis and muscle pain. I am 82 yo and have arthritis. This recipe contains DMSO. The DMSO causes the THC and CBD to be absorbed into the skin. Pain relief in about half a minute!

One important thing: BE CLEAN whenever you use DMSO. It can also carry bacteria in. That's not to risky rho. There have been quite a few of us using this for a couple of years.

Here is my pain recipe.
1 cup infused coconut oil
1 tbs DMSO
1 or 2 tbs shay butter - Optional, just to raise the melting temperature.

As simple as this is it is the best I've found.

There are ways. No one's kitchen oven is accurate enough to nail it. That's why I suggested cast iron skillets to hold the temperature.

Another way to do it on top of the stove. You can use the double boiler method. Water won't get hot enough so you can use oil. I use meneral oil because it's easier to clean up. Do it the same way you would in the oven. Use a candy thermeter for the meneral oil

I make alcohol tincture (cold/golden dragon method), then I evaporate out all the fluid down to full-spectrum oil and then add a teaspoon of alcohol back into things to make it easier to work with. Then I can use that in a variety of things. Lately my most favorite is to make chocolate with it, mold it into bars then I have measurable 'squares' to eat. That keeps things quick/easy/convenient to use.

I've done sous vide but it's such a pita for just a small amount to decarb.
I like decarbing by sous vide. I use smaller ziplocs which work pretty well, though I think that the timing is a bit more work to nail down correctly. The other method I use is to decarb by oven in a ball jar. Though I do something like 240f for 50-60 minutes (aka, I add a bit of time for the air in the jar to heat up to temp.) Once I did that, it seemed to be more effective and complete.

With decarb by sous vide, you do have to make sure you've really dried your cannabis out for a few days before the decarb though...unlike other methods where the hot air drys as well as decarbs, sous vide traps moisture with the cannabis and you're working against the water with the rest of your process.

I'm mostly using stuff I've had for awhile that's starting to lose its appeal terpenes wise but thanks for the heads up on the sous vide, I didn't know that. I'm getting ready to harvest some clone only pre 98 bubba kush that is for sure going to be made into mostly tincture for pain meds and some motorbreath 15 clones too so I'll have to take that into account if I go that route. I know I want my decarb to be really nailed down for these two strains as I'm pretty sure they will be the most potent bud I've grown so far based on the labs of the clones. Thanks again for the help.
