Today's The Day

Greetings fellow smokers! I embark on my first grow today. I'm 43, and have been smoking since I was old enough to flick a Bic, but have never grown. :/ That's about to change. I spend a week getting my tent together, it's 4x6x6, constructed of 3/4" PVC and Panda film and houses a 1,000 watt digital ballast, 6" inline for output, and 4" inline booster for input. I'll be venting out the window. I've spent the last month or so lurking, reading, researching, LMFAO and generally collecting data. I'll be going to get some clones in a bit - not sure what, yet, but I'm hoping they still have some plush berry in. I'll be bringing them home and putting them in 2.5 gallon pots with about 2" of FFOF/Perlite in the bottom and Happy Frog/Perlite filling the rest of the pot. I'll get some nutes in a couple of weeks. I know how to get answers when I need them, but will, on occasion, be begging and pleading for help. Pics to follow when it's up and running. I ended up getting 3 plush berry kushes and 3 cheeses. I'm concerned, though, about the leaves curling up and drying/dying. Using a 4 inch layer of FFOF & Perlite on the bottom and Happy Frog & Perlite filling it out. I noobed and didn't ph the water. Run off ph was around 7.5, so I threw some lemon juice in a gallon or so of water and brought it down to 6.5, checked run-off again and it's at 7, so I'm gonna smoke on some Afwreck and chill for the next few days, periodically checking on temps and light placement, unless somebody sees something that needs to be done. Temp is 81, MH set at 750 watts, 24 inches from top of plants, passes skin test. No nutes for another 3 weeks. I did, however, leave them without a fan while I ran down to Target to get one. Temp was about 81 when I got back. Temp in the car when I brought them home from the dispensary was about 92.

Day 2. I ended up dialing my MH down to 500 watts and raising it to 28 inches. I wanted the temp below 80. The plush berries appear to be doing pretty good. The plush berries on the right, cheese on the left. The Cheese are lookin' a bit tore up. The one in the middle, especially. Should I cut that leaf off, or leave it?

Dont cut it unless its dead for sure it might come back to life. To me everything looks good. Good luck on your grow

I hung the trellis at approximately 18 inches of plant height, as I only have about 4 feet of space after factoring in the pot, on cup hooks that I screwed into the pvc frame over a 4x4 foot space. The girls have about 10 inches to go. Oh, and I named 'em.

I also watered them, as their pots were feeling light. I was hoping to wait until tomorrow morning, but oh, well. lol

Well, this is all about learning, right? So, I got high a little while ago, got bored and decided to top my girls, according to Uncle Ben's method. I might've just given 'em a haircut. We'll see. Was it a bad idea, only 2 1/2 days after I planted 'em?
