Too Many Cheifs And Not Enough Indians

Our Law says 6 plants. It is set up on Photos.

I have went with Autos because my Son says more variety and they are easy.

I was scared of Photos because of Light thing.

Got a grow of White Nightmare Photos that I'm very excited about. 5 plants, topped, in Happy Frog , in 5 gallon Fiber Pots. Got to make minor adjustments but looks good.

My problem is my Son wants me to go back to Autos. Says I won't get that much more off of Photos and take longer time. And I have a wife agreeing with him because I don't know nothing.

My way of thinking is the Photos won't take that long and get way more Bud.

Got some Photo Seed that I'm pulling at the bit to start but I also have Auto Seed my Son is wanting me to grow.

Autos aren’t easy or for beginners photos will generally yield more . Not an auto guy really but photos can take longer than you think an average indica dom strain is 10 + weeks in flower plus veg time

More variety is false imo

Photos have the ability to produce more and you have more control over them.

I get the impression you'd have more fun growing out some old school photo strains or landraces. You should check out the AK Bean Brains thread, it's a great place to find some of the strains of your youth. There is infinitely more variety with photo strains, as most drug cannabis landraces and most worked lines are photo lines. I have nothing at all against autos, your son is just incorrect on a few points and I get the feeling you were leaning that direction yourself.

Sounds like your son wants to get his own place and grow his own plants. If they all want certain things, then everybody grow 2 of what they want. If it is your grow, grow what you want.

Given the limit of 6 plants, you obviously want those 6 to count; that is, you want to pull solid bud from all 6 every time. Growing from seed, whether it be regular or fem, you're still going to get variations in each plant until you find the one that you like the most and clone her out. It will take time getting all dialed into her to bring out her full potential. If pulling solid bud from all 6 plants every time is your goal from the start, then you should forgo seed altogether and just get clones to grow out every time. This will save you a lot of time, effort and money. If breeding is what you want to do, then reg photo's are the way to go.

Buy him a tent, problem solved

If it really matters to you, make sure you read your law(s) in their entirety. My state is 6 plants up to 12 per household if two people are 21 or older. The fine print says only half flowering so something to consider

Well I don't know with him. I bought him a Kit, Light, Tent and all.

He has a nice closet but don't have enough Light. He could grow Autos no problem but seems he is still depending on me.

I do depend on him to help me with some stuff that I need two Arms for. Stupid stuff like putting a Filter up.

It is crazy here can not buy Clons and very hard to get seed. The state is not Grower Friendly and try forcing everyone to buy at the Dispensary.

We can't grow outside. Grow Room has to be locked and 6 plants.

It seems you 2 have different ideas on growing. Maybe you can each run your own grow how you see fit but still help each other. Then you can see what works best and make any needed adjustments to either set up.

How old is he? Is he physically able to work and earn his own money to buy a better light than he was gifted? If you want to grow autos, maybe you can use the light you gifted him and he can grow photos with your setup. From all of your posts, it really sounds like you want to do one thing and your son is just stonewalling you. Sounds like you need to have a good talk and it would be pretty easy to solve several issues with a basic compromise and meet in the middle.

I'm allowed 6 at my place. He is allowed 6. My wife can't grow because of her Job.

He is 40 working construction. I have everything I need so does he with my help.

Can't really say anything to him because he does plenty for us. Like yesterday he was working on our Washer.

Last time I checked, some states like AZ wont even let you grow if you're within like 20 miles of a dispensary. "Grow Room has to be locked and 6 plants". Almost sounds like you have to register your grow so that they can pop in whenever they want and inspect everything to make sure you're following their rules. You can buy clones/seeds online. You're just going to have to figure out whats best for you. There's plenty of content to be found to guide you no mater which way you go.

You can 100% set some boundaries in a polite yet firm manner. While I appreciate that he helps around the house and is very valuable in that position, it is your house. You have a right to be treated respectfully. All that to say, u til you guys can come to some sort of agreement on the fact that you guys are both capable of making decisions and talking stuff out, your grows and actions are going to be riddled with headaches. I wish you the best of luck in your ventures.

I'm thinking I have Tent and all I need make the best of it.

He can be a pain sometimes. Got to work on our Cabin at the Lake so he can take his Girlfriend up there this weekend.
