Too much light?

Is it possible to have to high intensity of light affecting smell and taste? Is it possible the intensity of the light can damage the trichomes? I am running 6 citizen cob led lights in total equals out to be 300 watts. I have kept them 20 inches away from the top colas and this last run I had fox tailing going on but previous runs along with this last one I experience very little smell when flowering and I notice alot of the heads on the trichomes look like they have fallen off. My temps are in the mid 70s so I don't think it's a heat issue. I do have a dimmer so if I have to I can dimm down the lights but I dont want to dimm them too much....any advise? There is a not so good pic of the light setup (only one I have in my phone)

Usually the prime smelling bud with nice shaped trichomes comes when it's fully ripe, which is usually much riper than most people harvest. Lights can definitely be too close, but when they are, you will get noticeable bleaching. Foxtails are tricky since some strains are going to sprout them out no matter what, and there are multiple factors that contribute to them besides genetics. Too much heat pretty much guarantees foxtails.

Well I will be honest I didn't have any air circulation at all in the room so I'm wondering if it got too hot under the light with no fan moving across the lights. I do notice that my cola buds dont get nearly as frosty as my lower canopy (further away from the light)

I'm almost certain I'm harvesting too early but you would think out of 4 different strains at week 8, I would get some kind strong odor coming from them

Sorry if this is a stupid question but I might not notice any smell until way later into flowering like possibly 10 to 11 weeks?

Some strains just won't produce much of an odor, it can be really strain dependent. Do your plants smell if you stick your nose up close to the bud? If you do that, you'll notice a definite change in the final few weeks. I have a plant that smelled mildly "fruity" at 8 weeks, and now at 12 it has a super sharp clear strawberry odor-but only right up close-the room smells mildly "skunky." I can smell my plants outside my house if the windows are open, but it isn't super strong like the old skunk used to.

Wow 12 weeks...is it a sativa?

The way a plant will respond to intense lighting is largely strain dependent. I have one strain which will yield better with the lights a bit further away than other strains. It makes that strain a bit of a pain in the ass to run with other strains which like a lot of light, especially because it's a particularly stretchy strain as well.

Would I get dense nuggets if I put the light close without burning them?
