Topping and Lollipopping at the same time ??

About to top my plant (8 ball kush) in about another week. My question is since I use a small 250 watt hps I will need to lollipop too... Should I do topping and lollipopping (removing lower leaves that won't get light bc of small 250 watter) at the same time or could all of that stress the plant too much ??

i wouldn't remove more than 1/3 of the plant in one chopping... i prefer to do minimal pruning. only had to remove 3 fan leaves on bubblegummer and she is about 18" tall but is going to yield over 100grams

Yeah I will probally due 2 or 3 stages or lollipopping/pruning or what ever u want to call it..... How big is you're light to get 100 grams.... I usually get 100 grams with a 250w hps in dwc and veg time from seed is only about 1 month.

400w hps. its not the only plant but it is using nearly 1/2 the space.

I agree, no more than 1/3 of the plant at a time....the smaller the plant the less I would prune. Each plant is different and also the size, growth rate and health all are very important factors to include. I like to do it in stages not shocking the plant just before flowering. Often I continue to prune lower small branches on larger plants as they flower, until the canopy is filled in I give the lower branches a chance make a decent bud. Also pruning the lower branches promotes vertical growth where topping is the opposite. The plant would do better if you topped one day then prune another. Like BeastGrow says ".... I prefer to do minimal pruning". I totally agree, every leaf makes a difference and those leaves make the sticky buds, so prune only what you need to.

ok just trimmed off the lowest 4 buds that will never get light also a set of leaves.

BUDS? You shouldn't be cutting any buds off, man. You start lollipopping while the plant is still vegging. You may have to keep trimming off new growth during flowering, but you should never have to chop off a bud.

Sorry Pre flowers.... And about chopping off buds I do that too up to about 15 days into flowering where the buds won't reach my small light 250w... Also its a very small space 24"x 15" x 4 foot tall.

Don't know if I mentioned I top the plant too and SCROG... This is my 7th plant indoor in this setup and although its smaller than I wanted to go its good for now...

Great job! Small buds that don't see the light of my HID...... will NEVER EVER see the light of my bic! LOL Whats the point of a bud if its not mature? Love to see some pics. I'm doing a scrog set up in a 9'x2' closet. I still have lower branches will small bud starts I'm gonna chop that are just shaded like crazy.
