Well damn... My roll of 1/4" PEX tubing was out in the warehouse... Looks like their next supply wont be in for another week so I might haveta wait a while before I can start building/testing my components.. Oh well, on the bright side I won't be tortured by having my PEX and the rest of my components laying around and still have to wait on the nozzles and new batch of seeds in the mail before being able to finish the build.

Told ya there's always a hangup each person endures- lol... On a bright note the tubing is everywhere and can be sourced from many places. I've noticed the hardware store carries clear polyethyline tubing for refrigerator water lines, etc that will fit in the quickconnect fittings in a bind.

Yeah, I stock the polyethylene in a variety of sizes, however the 1/4" poly is only rated to 125 psi. I feel far more comfortable with the 1100 psi rating of the PEX even though I know the 125 rating is purposefully on the low side for the average consumer that likes to test the limits of products. I'll probably fit everything up with the poly and watts push fittings then just replace the poly with the PEX when it comes in.

On a much brighter note, the biocontrol nozzles arrived today! It was a pleasant surprise opening up the mailbox to see that little box that I wasn't expecting for another few days. The order shipped 4/18 and came only two days later. I figured snail mail USPS would take longer to deliver, but once again surprises surprises.

Nylon is good, i wouldnt recommend using PEX outside unless its painted or covered as its generally not uv resistant.

If you`re lucky you might be able to use black 1/4" inside a white 3/8" od tube (tape is a right pita lol) the black will sort the algae and the white will absorb less heat.

The PEX tubing will be opaque white. I thought about the algae issue, and hopefully it wont be a problem.

That actually doesnt sound bad at all, thanks for the idea!

Does anyone remember which rockwool brand was suggested due to the way it's woven? I can't believe it, but searching "rockwool" in the thread only brings up two pages of results, none of which seem to be the posts mentioning the brand name even though I know it was mentioned more than once.

And I'll add my research concluded only the black (of JG brand) tubing contained uv stabiliers and was meant to be in direct sunlight- go figure cuz I'd rather have white tubing in direct sunlight haha...

The one you`re looking for is...Cultilene
Yes, and it's absolutely impossible to source in the US. I got refunded 3 times from Amazon and Ebay by companies listing it for sale and said they no longer can get in in the US... Might need someone from Europe to send me a sack because my Grodan turns into mush after I chop it. BTW those cheap electric knives are very good at cutting the rockwool, and don't inhale the dust - it's next best thing to asbestos for your lungs.

If anyone can find it here in the US please put up a link or pm me.
