I've heard from several people they do have excellent customer service.
I just asked them a question by email and had an answer within and hour... I was wondering how long the warranty is. 1 year they said.
It SEEMS like it could be a decent light (I haven't used mine yet) but it's got a more complicated circuit than some other lights. And, if something does go wrong it isn't going to be user-serviceable...and I'm not willing to pack it up and send the whole thing back in IF it were to break. It's a big, heavy box....and, like I say, the packing is some of the worst I've ever seen.
The switches don't feel like they are super high quality. I'm not really clear on the built-in timer situation, either. It might be a bit of a learning curve! When I plugged it in for the first time, it was blindingly bright! And since it was free, I can't really complain. It might come in handy at some point.
I'm saving mine in the box as an emergency backup light in case something goes wrong with my new HLG Red Spec. I've got a lot of lights now!

I don't think the 700 watt model has a timer (I hope not). It shows just 2 dials, once for spectrum, and 1 for dimming, and it doesn't say anything about a built in timer anywhere. With Amazons 3 year electronic warranty, I doubt they would even want it back. My experience with them in the past has been they just send you a credit for the full amount, minus taxes, and they don't want it back.

But yep, with this one I think the extra warranty is a must.

I have both versions. The built in timer is a decent feature, but with 3 tents in flower, I have them all on a timer circuit. The basic model is pretty awesome. Mine had a bar that was not attached, and they sent me a whole new and different light (hence the timed version). Both have worked really well over I think 4 runs each at this point. Perfect light for a 3x3 I would say. I currently have the 500 watt version of this in a 4x4 for flower till my big Medicgrow is replaced. It just isnt big enough for a 4x4. Also, the timer version seems to run quite a bit hotter than the basic one. Probably because there is alot more mass to house the electronics.
