So i had to use a neem oil spray from week 5 - 6 during flowering of my fire og to eradicate spider mites :wall:. im exactly 6 weeks 1 day into flowering and i just sprayed tonight at lights out... im hoping this last spray will completely get rid of them.... ive heard that neem oil greatly affects the taste of the bud... u was wondering if water curing would get rid of the coat of neem...? any advice to save the taste would be great.

    thank you.

it is definately gonna mess with the taste at week 6..

you should have tried other ways to eradicate the little bastards, lower temperature,

higher humidity, a roll of tape and your hand..

You probably will have a funky taste with that nice coat of neem oil that you just put in all of the calaxys of the bud..

hopefully everything works out for you..
    peace

I don't think a water cure will help because neem is an oil. That's why you have to use a bit of soap to emulsify the oil into the water. I wonder if it'll make your bud taste like peanuts.

I'm pretty sure I already answered your question. Neem won't just wash off. Maybe if you make hash oil the butane will separate it out. It sucks you had to do that during flowering but I'd rather sacrifice a little taste over bugs.

neem oil is safe to use the day of harvest. I try not to spray the flowers directly 2 much and not 2 use it the last two weeks. Spray or mist the plants with water a few weeks b4 harvest or after the mites are gone make sure you can keep the humidity down after you mist with fans, a/c or dehumidifier cuz of mold but should b fine I have done this b4 and never had effected the taste. no need to water cure imo. The neem oil I use is schultz garden safe fungicide 3 70% clarified hydrophobic extract of neem oil easily obtainable and works great. remember pure neem oil needs to be diluted with water before applying.

I have however messed the taste up with organocide used it about 3-4 weeks b4 harvest and man was it horrible threw the whole plant out that shit has fish oil in it and u can tell! it says safe to use the day of harvest but eww dont use organocide at all during flower yuck!

Fuck neem. I wouldnt even worry about it with a grow like that. Those are some fat colas. Are you just using the 400W?

    thanks man :D

and yup, just the 400w now. for the first 5 weeks i flowered with cfl..... hopefully the bud will be better since i threw in the 400. ive grown and harvested with both, and the cfl bud, was not so good. my frieds all liked it, but it wasnt even close to par for me nor did it compare to the previous grow with the 400.

after this grow ima start a harvest every two weeks system, so im exited to finish this grow and start over...
