Hi guys I’m looking for a little advice I’m using LEDS this time instead of HPS. Iv read you need cal mag when using LEDS? is this correct also what kind of strength A&B are we looking at using? They’re cuttings but iv also read the feed needs to be stronger off the bat with LEDS. Hoping someone can help me with this if it isn’t too much trouble thanks.

If you don't need it now i can't see why you'll need it with led, I've read what you're saying but I've not found that to be the case.

What i have found is that i need a higher ec with led, i suspect when calmag is getting recommended for led issues it's more likely lack of feeding imo.

Completely understand what your saying it’s more that I’m involved with a good friend this time round as decided he wants to try LED I think the route we’re gonna go is only use cal mag when it seems to be needed if needed what I really wanna know is how high would you start with the LED from top of canopy and what sort of EC should I go for from start

How high is a difficult one to answer it depends on the type of lights, bar lights for example 10" is possible but a board would need 20" usually the manufacturer guides are near enough for a starting guide, what light is it maybe some members have experience with it.

The ec depends on age and partly environmental,
a hot dry room for example needs a lower ec than than cooler humid room due to water transpiration, too much water evaporating through the leafs concentrates the nutrient left in the pot.

A rough starting guide ±...0.8 for seedlings gradually increasing to 1.2ec for veg and increasing to 14ec for flower.

Hey buddy I do hope you mistyped, I believe you meant to make that 1.4 EC.

Great lads thanks we’ll start around 0.8 then and I’ll keep the lights higher and just play with adjusting them

I use this with the android ppfd meter app.
UNI-T Light Meter UT383BT Lux Meter Lumens Digital Illuminance Meter 0~199900 Lux (0~18500 FC) Foot Candles Luxmeter for Film Photography Plants Photometer Lighting Intensity Brightness Measurement https://a.co/d/3qVs3wl
That PPFD meter app is almost spot on with my manufactures ppfd chart. Love it. I have a Motorola phone for what its worth.
