Ventilation question/exhaust fan.

My tent unfortunately has its intended exhaust port by a wall. I do know that putting the intake side near a wall puts stress on the motor (same concept as with a fan), but does putting the exhaust side (the outside of the tent) near a wall do the same thing? Its a few inches from. Is there enough space for the air to exit without putting any stress on the mechanical parts?

You should have ducting attached to the exit side of the fan and run through the hole and out of the room/house.

If your extracting directly out of the duct sock (exhaust port) then your pushing heat and humidity back into the same room which may or may not be a major issue, depends on the size of the whole room, how warm and humid it is already ect.
But if you can get away with it then as long as you have a few inch space it shouldn't be too much of a big deal.

Its not the right way to vent but some get away with it.

The conditions where im at to circulate entirely within the room are fine. Its moreso the specific question im asking. So youre saying it shouldnt put any stress on the motor? Perfect lol thank you.

It wont stress the motor if its a good fan, no different from pushing a few meters through duct, its all resistance and that's what the fan is made for.
I wouldn't want it jammed tight to a wall but a few inch should be fine.
Im surprised you don't have a duct sock in the tent ceiling.

Man i'm such an idiot. There IS one. It never crossed my mind. I was too caught up trying to decide which of the other vent ports would constitute the best opposite XD

I'm glad you found a solution
I wouldn't of reccomended it right next to the wall because it would decrease power, and constantly be blowing hot humid air at the wall. Good way to grow mold on the drywall.
I'm not sure why you couldn't use some cheap flexible ducting from the hardware store the solve the issue though.

I do have ducting for the inside of the tent, just not outside. I planned to hang the inline within the tent and duct to a port. I never intended to have the fan near the wall, its just that particular port due to the tent being very close to the wall. I can just use the top port and keep the inline fan near the opposite side of the tent regardless (relative to my passive intake).
