Just a heads up. Caught this on Amazon this morning. Looks like a new series “XS”. IDK. Couldn’t find anything else. Not affiliated with them or trying to spam you guys. Just been considering the VS pro series, HLG, SpiderFarmer etc. if I decide to do a new 2x2 set up in the future. Not currently growing at all. Personally it seems to me they are trying to build up their own brand. By giving consumers what they ask for. The parts from well established trusted sources. Samsung and MeanWell.

Showing available August 25 on my end. I think they are about to roll out a new series. No biggy on my end not buying one. Looking forward to seeing how it compares to the p series. Just watching.

Here is the first unboxing and review of the new XS series I’ve seen and sure enough. It has a MeanWell driver and the popular Samsung diodes. Nice looking light. That’s not my video.

Just a quick look at the numbers from them. Looks like about a 30% increase in PAR with the Samsung and MeanWell parts over the pro series 1500 also running at 150 watts with the generic parts. That’s really what I was wanting to know. Same light just different perhaps “better” components.

It’s official and has a 25 % off coupon for Amazon. That should make it around $120 shipped. Just checked only 2 left! I personally think that is a heck of a deal for someone. With a small 2x2. They will probably be sold out in a few hours.

Interesting, wish I noticed this earlier. I currently have 400 watt hps and wanted to switch to led so i got the pro series P2000 about 2 weeks ago, set it up to try it out for about an hour, it doesnt have the meanwell driver or samsung chips so i just ordered the XS2000 to try.

There is so much competition out there buyers have the advantage in my opinion. The XS1500 pushed to the front for my 2x2 plans. But I will be in the planning stage for a while so.... I look at par numbers and wait for the reviews from guys like justintime2grow and Migro. And others. Anyway. 2x2 is so small it’s inconsequential really. Hey don’t forget to use that code!

I like how they look, slim and compact with no noisy fans. My goal is to bring the heat down and save money on electricity, being noiseless is a bonus. I may redo my exhaust system also. Seems to be a bit of a difference i'm seeing between the Pro Series and the XS, not sure what it amounts to.

Too much blue in the "pro" series, because they are using a combo of 3000k and 6500k white chips, compared to 3000k and 5000k in the XS. Personally I think both versions could use more 660nm chips.

I think the P1500 series is a good light actually for a 2x2. The p2000 seems like it is for a 2x4 space. Should do fine really. Just adjust the height of the light. The Xs with the name brand parts seems to do better do I don’t blame you for wanting that. Realistically when you are talking about small spaces and all of these lights will be fine. Just set your light at the height where you get the best spread and dial in your dimmer to that space. We are talking 150 to 200 or even 300 watts. The increase in KLW hours on your electric bill won’t be that much.

Honestly on a small scale HPS is done. Too much heat for a tent and to expensive to cool for somebody growing a few for their personal use.
Also try not to get lost in that gotta have that latest greatest light addiction lol. The tech is moving so fast.

for a 2x2 the XS moved to the top. But I was also considering the p series, Mars T1000 and the HLG qb96 build option. SpiderF kinda lost interest in it. . All would do just fine tho. .For a 2x4 I would probably buy 2 of the 150 watters. Just in case you need to run one a little higher for a plant that grows taller or something.

Just received the XS2000. I ordered a $40 light meter which should be here later this week, hoping to play around and see if I can figure out how strong these are, I read there's a way to figure out PAR with it? I was happy with the Pro Series, but the XS does look nicer to me in the silver and it's 40 more watts it claims.

Ever since I saw it I kinda think if I were buying a light today I would be getting that light. Well the 1500 because I think it would be more than enough for a 2x2. And it is made with great parts as well as being very affordable for the budget minded. I have no idea about how to figure out par. I pretty much just watch the YouTube vids guys with more experience put out. Anyway congrats it’s a beautiful light made from great parts and I have faith it will do you justice. :hump:

I personally have the timber grow lights 400 watt vero 29 gen 7 cobs. Cob tech is getting old but it still puts out a shit ton of ppfd. Do they have a light intensity chart for the viparspectra?
