Wall mounted circulation fans

Im using box fans sitting on my half wall currently and positioning them is always a pain. Either they are too direct and cause wind burn or they are too indirect and barely move the plants.

Looking for 2 wall mounted fans that rotate and arent too powerful since they will be 4 to 5ft from canopy

Here is my fan placement so far.

I used to use just 1 in a 4x8 area on high but then added the 2nd maybe 3 weeks later on the other side and turned them both to low.

Yeah they are pricey for a cheap fan...i know they are pretty much the go to for growers. I guess they are cheaper than losing harvest to PM. I got a thick crop coming in.

How far away are the fans from your canopy?

I have had many of the hurricanes fail and started buying commercial fans off amazon. All metal construction, lasts forever.
Yeah this has been my experience with grow brands.

I went with soler and palau extraction fan and its still going after 9 years.

What brand are they and are they too strong/how far away do you have from tops? Im in a 12x10 room

I have them about 2.5 feet above but they blow across the room...left fan blows over to the right side of the 4x8 and so on. Back when I got mine they were also almost $10 cheaper.

Definitely are not for commercial use which is 24/7, they all have the same breakage pattern ( knob switch, cowling piece, ocillating-cam assy) and failing bearings.
Seen Nursing homes with hundreds mounted, changed my mind real fast about them.
Maintenance dept hated them, they had a whole roomful of broken ones for parts, pointed out every problem with them.

How reliable are they? Ive heard mixed reviews on the Hurricane brand. As with most cannabis exclusive brands.
mine has run non stop for about 3 years. I got it from Amazon, and I'm not sure who the seller was, but it was delivered unwrapoed , and the box may have said greenhouse fan or something like that. At the time that bugged me a bit. I know to order from Amazon as seller now.

failing bearings.
Thats been my problem with them. They run for 3 - 9 months and stop spinning due to bearing failure. Every once in a while I get one that lasts a few years but when you have a bunch it seems like they failed all the time, one here, a month later one there. I put in some more commercial grade fans and they haven't had a single failure. I wouldn't even take the plastic off the little pull handles, just gonna take it back to the store in a few months anyway. lol I am phasing them out since it's a hassle and I hate it when shit breaks mid run, just pisses me off. If you do run the hurricanes and you have several just buy a backup to put in play while you warranty swap the hurricane at the store. If you are buying online this becomes a bitch but at my hydro store they expect it and they just give you an unboxed fan sans brackets in exchange for your fully assembled fan you just pulled off the wall.

Oscillating:
Mount on a vertical stick of strut channel if you wish to be able to slide it up and down to keep it between the canopy and lighting.

When you don't need oscillating these:
I have these hanging from the wall and from the ceiling in places.

You may need different sizes of course and maybe a different brand, these are generic but I have yet to see a failure on any of them.

After buying and returning a couple of wall mounted oscillators from Amazon (including the Tornado/Hurricane, which started squeaking horribly while moving back and forth after 1 week) I gave up and went back to cheap, manually operated stand-up oscillators. I'm mostly conscious of noise levels and for some reason these are just superior and much less expensive.

WD40 is your friend gents. All those squeaky fans will run a lot longer with a good spray into the bearings and rotating assemblies. Hot humid conditions will rust some of those parts that get a lot of friction.
