They have been aware of this issue, as have the people who pay them and they have ways of compensating, statistics is a tool of science too. The good news is with cultural change and a democratic win in november and for a few election cycles, they're number can be more than halved. Over a 5 years to a decade period, public education, law and regulatory change and others could lead to a similar thing that happened with gay attitudes, seatbelts, drunk driving and smoking. People can evolve if given the proper environment to do so, not everybody, but you can remove enough of them to reduce the danger, but it will take time, Ya need to start around the edges and appeal to emotion and feelings to promote introspection before using logic and reason. Ya can't reason with an angry man, is as true today as when first uttered. Some ya gotta whack with a baseball bat though, to get their attention.

Nope, the wrong side of the bell curve is not where most of them reside, this is a problem of deep seated instinctual tribal drives that affect males and learned behavior. The problem is one of both pathology for some and of conditioning for the vast majority. The experience of my own country and others demonstrates this, you can nip bullshit in the bud with policy and public education. Racism is a social virus and it has made America vulnerable to treason and catastrophe. It is a wedge enemies foreign and domestic drive between people, a weapon to be used against America by an eager fascist 5th column. Racism turns people into suckers who then elect con men who pander to their moral weakness and impoverish them, just look at much of the south.

When humans behave like animals, they can be conditioned like animals, much more easily, education and deconditioning take longer, it is an evolutionary process, whereas things that ride on instinct and take advantage of our nature happen pretty quick. Stressful events and widespread fear can sometimes lead to rapid social change. Some of those same 1939 American nazi's felt real stupid storming the beaches of Normandy 5 years later.

Using a vote for Trump as a proxy for racist leanings, almost 60% of white people voted for Trump so, about 60% of white people have racist leanings.
With 61% of the population being white and more than 60% of them being racist makes for a whopping large number of white people who are racist.
Couple that with the gangster mentality of police, where there is a code of silence towards misbehavior of fellow officers and you have a toxic number of racist white men who are free to act on their false beliefs.
It's not that all cops are racist but a whopping large number are. All cops observe the code of silence about other cops. Identifying one cop whistle-blower confirms the rule. Police bias and violence against black people permeates practically every police department. It's much worse in areas that were afflicted by segregation.
DIY says anything and everything. I couldn't follow his arguments in this thread. He's not making any sense. Still, though you aren't either. Not if you are saying that white cops with racist attitudes aren't a problem in today's USA.

every man, women and child dead at the hands of white people get a permanent statue or hologram at their memorial site as tribute..Robert E Lee etc. gets torn down as a start..any confederate paraphernalia need to be outlawed.

all of them are not racist but i still keep my hands in plain sight when stopped and ask permission to move and that's the white experience now with police..do nothing; say nothing..because they're still walking up on me with their hand on the gun and they know i'm white in bmw by myself.
