Waterfall effect

Anyone running flood and drain continuously when light on? I have airstones in rez and use h202 and my flood and drain creates a circular motion thru the tub cause of the design, diy style but a bit unorthodox cause I have my rez flooding tub with 500 gm pump and overflow is outside the tub and empties into rez a foot or more above the surface of the water level, sort of waterfall effect... Why flood in cycles?

Pics of what I mean if you don't understand.

lol.
ok im not sure if i get it but if your flood in drain is on all day.
its basically a bubble system. with no bubbles right. you dont have an airstone by the roots right?
if thats the case your gonna flood you plants cuz they NEED oxygen.

the point of a cycle is to feed the plants and then drain to expose the roots to fresh oxygen.
just like in a dwc a airstone provids the oxygen

hoped that helped some

I've been tucking the leaves to expose budsites, and been running it this way for the last week, no signs of overwatering at all

ther droopier than they should be. im not saying it wont work remember its a weed. they survive well through stress.
i think it would go better if you cycle it like all traditional ebb n flows run.

if your system worked better wouldnt all ebb n flows work like that??? just saying.

why are u against cycles?

you guys didnt look at the pics then cause the leaves are huge and the 400hps is like 12" off in a 2x3' closet, check again, the leaves are angleing because they are maximizing the light...

lol

two air pumps and the waterfall effect, check out Heaths vertical grow to grasp the concept of dissolved oxygen...

Heaths vertical grow

Over 2g a watt...

I have never seen leaves angle away from a light to receive more light I'm not sure how that would work care to explain?

lol dude you asked for advice.
stop denying shit everyone can see. those leaves are drooping. i dont care what way you angle or what stupid ass thing you build to feed plants we all know the difference between over watering and not. roots need oxygen thats a simple fact.

your drowing them in the day and at night they are finally breathing.
if you dont wanna hear the truth dont make a thread bro. we tried to help but if you comment on everything we say then why did u ask a question haha.

keep it going that way tho i guarantee you wont get close to 2g per watt.
heres six plants on a cycle notice all leaves point straight out.

No you don't understand you want help ask this guy he actually grasps the concepts hes using. your just trying to emulate him. do yourself a favor go with something simple until you have enough $ to do this the right way cause this other guy is putting in some bank. I guarantee there is no cheap way to do what hes doing.

I'll tell you this though you need larger diameter tubes and a way to maintain fluid level within the tubes. all your doing is flood and drain with out the drain the water fall into the trash can isn't cutting it

i know man ive read through it before. he has an awsome setup but its far from what you have. svchop is right tho untill you can build somthing like that you gotta do it right. im telling you if you cycle your gonna see improvments.
or just go dwc all together ive seen wonders from both but i can tell you its over waterd.

timers are cheap and all you need is 3 watering 15 min each throughout the day.

i dont go in the grow room for days somtimes weeks and i come back to awsome growth and i dont even take care of them
hydro takes care of itself so just try it.
plants will be happier
or go ask some ebb n flow guys

Regardless of my (lack of) experience with anything hydroponic, I can for sure tell you that you should listen to what these guys are trying to tell you.
Do you comprehend the idea of dissolved oxygen, as these fellows do not, your lack of pratical hydro experience:shock: just lends less weight to your opinion:-o...
