Yeah that's slug damage. Go out in the middle of the night and you'll probably find slugs crawling all over your plants.

We get slugs really bad here in the pacific northwest. I get on them early in the spring. This year I went through 3 boxes of the iron phosphate slug bait this year. It seemed to work as I don't have any slugs. But early on they were eating all my sprouts and when I went out in the middle of the night with a flashlight they were all over. Now I can't find any.

Like @thumper60 said look under those pots. Also, under that black plastic is like a 5 star hotel for slugs. Take a peek under that as well.

I hate slugs. We also have snails and a couple ate half a nursery tray of Zinnia starts overnight. All that was left in the morning was stems and a couple snails.

Sluggo plus! Spinosad laced noodles will help

also you can put copper around the rim of the pot, they can’t go across copper!
I sprayed with Spinosad? I am going to check at night...I have never had this problem before.
Thanks for the insight.

This Sluggo?

thanks for the help
That is the brand but they have one that will kill more pests called sluggo plus that I use it does earwigs and stuff too it is a type of iron phosphate slug killer product .

there are directions on there too you wanna follow. The moisture after it rains at the end of the day or something hydrates the noodles

Like others said too beer traps and elevating the pots can help too

I was shown to use cooper foil or self adhesive copper foil. Cut into 2" - 4" strips. Then cut to length to form a sleeve about a half inch larger than stem dia.. I have few slug problems fortunately. I also employ shallow aluminum roasting pans buried flush with the soil and a bit of beer in it. Excellent for earwigs.
