What is the least bad...

My plants are transitioning into flowering, my tent is in my garage. Today it hit 93 for about 3 hours and I assume as it gets further into the warmer weather its just going to go up.

my options are to move them into an upstairs room or leave it in the heat.

I think I should just move them out of the heat but my buddy is swearing that it would be worse to move them...

everything I read says move it upstairs... whats up?

Please note temps above 80°F (26°C) in the flowering stage will slow down bud growth and may cause them to become airy and loose. The heat can also reduce the potency and smell of your buds. Keeping the grow room temperature under control is especially important in the flowering/budding stage!

In the heat, cannabis is also more susceptible to many problems, including spider mites, white powdery mildew (especially if it gets humid, too), root rot, nutrient burn (from increased water transpiration), increased stretching, wilting due to root oxygen deprivation, and reduced “smelliness” of buds (as terpenes can burn away at higher temps).

Temperature & Humidity Adjustment Cheat Sheet
Dehumidifier – Raises Temperature (somewhat), Lowers Humidity
Space Heater – Raises Temperature, Lowers Humidity
Air Conditioner – Lowers Temperature, Lowers Humidity
Evaporative Cooler – Lowers Temperature, Raises Humidity
Humidifier – Raises Temperature (somewhat), Raises Humidity

id go for a air conditioner if you have a window to run it from, you will have temp areas that will not cool as much as others only useing one, but thats your best option, youcan allways smash a hole in the garage wall to put one in, great stress relief whils under the influance of the killer weed marijuana

I do want to put a hole in lol... but I don't think that will work just because of where it is. What about if its too much stress to move them... i didnt know it would be a factor really.

Lots of good reasons to keep them cooler as @go go kid laid out for you.

The only time I want to see my space get up to 90 is during the stretch when I'm hitting them with CO2 and extra light and nutes to get the most out of that grow spurt.

No stress moving them unless you plan to throw them upstairs. ;)

:peace:

I’m currently building out a dedicated room because I was growing in a tent in my garage. Everything was going great until a heat wave came and the room hit 90 for 3 days.

the heat destroyed my crop. Half the plants began to herm. The smell in my room completely changed from awesome to a grassy burnt smell. I swear half of the tricomes just brunt off in the heat. The bud itself is airy and Lame. I haven’t smoked it out of frustration, I’m going to turn it all to edibles since that is all it’s good for.

on a side note, another tent in the garage was able to maintain the heat with minimal damage. Nothing was different in that set up other than genetics.I won’t be growing out this local breeders seeds anymore.

Yep, Heatwave 90 degrees for 3 days then humid and like 80... high heat then high humidity, and now my office is my grow room too. lol

I had to turn the office into my drying room during this ordeal. My wife was not pleased to have tent city inside. Soon my project will be done.

Building out a 9ft room with 3 chambers, 1 lung room venting to two small 3.5x3.5ft rooms. Sealed/hybrid set up because might as well go over the top.
