what is wrong with these ladies...

I have two soil ph pens from blue lab and I calculate the P ppm from PH down within the P2O5 to get a better NPK/CA/MG ppm ratio every through Excel
This one?

I would say that GH trio already has enough of calcium and magnesium. Yeah you can make you RO with CM to 0,3 and than add your base. I am not familiar with silicates so wont be helpful. You do not need to count that P to your ppm since from my observation adding pH down makes slight EC drop (in tap water, RO might be different). I would suggest not to use higher dose than maximal, which is ussually 0,1 ml per litre of P2O5 and skip silica which raises the pH… I believe it is pH issue, I had plants looking like this, but I just a noob so might be wrong…

You're growing in coco. Why are you bothering testing the pH of the coco? Just mix your nutes, set the pH, and water until runoff.

Also, is there a reason you're using RO water? If your water isn't completely whacked then most tap water is fine in fact it's actually better as tap water will also contain minerals like calcium and magnesium.

With coco what matters is what you put in. If you get that right then there is no need to be fiddling around with anything other than making sure the plants are watered with nutrient solution and they have good lighting.

I'd also drop the Armour SI.

Why?

Some of you growers sure like to overcomplicate things.

Even more weird is that RO plus nutrients is 6,8
True r/o water only holds true if microbe filters are clean and not clogged up in anyway even from the store. water processing plants r/o water can fluctuate depending on age of filters so getting a higher than normal reading on the ph isn’t abnormal just means someone needs to check the filters at the plant or do a wash out of the system but not abnormal at all

I dunno, no RO in my setup, but it can make sense. maybe… I would say hes just dicking around pH with silicates and pH down. Dude is just strictly following CFC.com or GWE.com feed schedule I guess.

edit: problem solved: magnesium issue. Sorry for bad advice! Good luck!

Exactly. Chasing pH for no reason. I'm not a fan of silicates. I've never seen the need. Just product marketing. If people want to use silicate products they'd be better off using just Agsil 4H as a foliar. The plants would get all the silica they can use and it's 10 times less inexpensive than any of the bottled products. Plus you wouldn't have stuff fighting each other in the nutrient solution. Also a foliar of potassium silicate is a very good preventative for PM and other fungal pathogens.

I only use silica and Cal mag in my water and give each plant 10 ounces of recharge twice weekly I also grow in living soil so that might not apply sorry if my input was useless LOL

I see the point if using it in some kind of DWC or recirculating systems but not in DTW and absolutely no point in soil. On the other hand I believe that if you know when and how to use it, you can take some real benefit of it. It just takes years of growing without and than years of growing with silicates. Question is if it worths… if the purpose is only to get stronger stems, than it is not worth for me. People should master their basic growing skills and basic nutrition first, it is actually not so easy how it sounds, but once it is done, there is absolutely no need of any additive or supplement…
