What LED is the best value in terms of cost/yield/service life?

Mars Hydro breaks in a year so I'm done with that.
Hahaha glad you're aware. Honestly, the newer model stuff Mars is coming out with like the Sp 250 bar and the ts 1000/2000 all white with red supplementation are pretty decent lights.
But there's far too many options to just tell you what you'd want/need.
There's cobs, boards, strips, any mix of them, many different implementations as well.
Just read some threads in this here led section. One is called Quantum board DIY or Chinese knockoff builds. Those are where you oughtta start.

strip lights will be a good bang for the buck...the EB3 Bridgelux, as long as they aren't much more expensive than the 2s, might be a really good low cost, high quality option....when they are released. There are cheap knockoff alibaba lights out there, some okay some very much not okay..minimal to zero warranty in many cases, could be another low cost albeit risky option.

Best warranty that I know of is Bridgelux's for the Vero & Vero Se series is 10 years most of there other stuff is 5 years like the strips. But that would make a 24/7veg light last around 10 years a 12/12 flower light should last about 20 years or more.

DIY .... strips , pcb , boards , atrium, qb , Zeus ... if You can put a lego toy together than you can build a rig.

You can even scavenge the mars and resurrect it with a new led board . Took an old mars “ 600 “ white box classic and reborn a light that smashes . Dark Hammer finish swag .... QB board and still going strong ( 4 years plus ) . You can also do cobs like @Growmau5 did on YouTube vid.

Really easy to fab up a killer light by DIY and use the mars as a boat anchor.

Lurk the threads or check out .... timber , cutter , cobkits , HLG ..... many many more.
