What light do you use for your 4ft x 4ft?

why don't you give us your budget instead of saying what you cant afford and well help find a light to suit it? :)
Yea that's fair, I guess $600 max. I'd like to go LED for energy saving purposes.

I'll be using a single 4ft x 4ft tent for everything... seedling to flower.

There are two grow tents in my grow area. I have a 400w MH in my veg tent, 18/6. There is a 600w HPS in my flower tent, 12/12. Originally I ran everything in a single tent, vegging for a number of weeks and then I would swap the bulbs and shift timing. Decided to set my area up to have perpetual growing, hence two tents.

Both lighting systems cost me $600 combined and they came with cheap reflectors. Replaced those with ones that would allow for cooling air to move through and that was another $200. I replace the bulbs every 6 months with fresh ones as they lose their lumen output over their life cycle. Lamps cost about $100 to replace so an annual cost of $200.

Used an air cooled 600w MH/HPS but would always suffer light burn at the end of flower.

Tried a DE 645w CMH. Had to dim it to about 345w in flower to avoid light burn.

If you live in a cold place I’d suggest a HID lighting system rather than an LED as I had to run a 2kw heater with it. Which made it much more inefficient than the HID lights.

But if you’re grow room temps are good deffo go with LED. Just not a purple one claiming 3000w from China lol

I use a mars hydro fce 4800. It gets the job done. Really any 480-600w bar light rated at 2.5umol/joule or higher will do the trick. Some of the best weed I’ve ever smoked came out of my 2x4 with 300w of cheap generic led 2 $60 150w lights.
$549 isn't terrible for 480w is it? Also you don't have any issues with overheating or burning smell? Thats the one complaint ive seen posted about mars-hydro products.

That thing looks pretty dope. At $699 though, is it worth it compared to the Mars Hydro FC4800 which is $550? Aside from blackbird @600w VS fc4800 @480w....Like how much difference in production/hours of light lifetime can i expect out of the HLG product?
