What’s the best cs to use?

Like the title says, what’s the best brands and why, or even alternatives if there are any. I’m interested in spraying some females, collecting the resulting feminized pollen and using that to pollenate other plants (probably just lower branches)

Make your own or use STS.

I reccomend STS. Both work but STS requires less spraying and since you're mixing by weight you know the concentration of the solution. Purchased CS can be all over the place and you have to spray CS daily for a couple weeks where STS only requires a few sprays.

To make STS you need a small bottle of silver nitrate and sodium thiosulfate.

Silver nitrate 2 grams $16.50

Sodium thiosulfate 30 grams $4.10

That's $20.60 plus shipping but they have economy shipping options and will make enough to reverse dozens of plants. You can mix what you need when you need it.

Recipe's for mixing are in this thread. If you are only doing one plant you can cut the recipe down to just make 16 ounces or so.

Regardless of which method you choose Good Luck with your reversal.

Awesome information. Do you know a thing or two about breeding?

I know some but in no way am I knowledgeable enough to say I know anything. I am studying plant breeding and genetics but at this stage I'm just trying to learn as much as I can. Iv'e made several dozen crosses with some at the F5 filial generation. I'm focusing on preserving landrace strains and making new strains using landrace and IBL's.

Here's a post I started almost 3 years ago. I haven't posted since July so I guess I better update it.

What I would like to do is reproduce more feminized autos for my outdoor season next year. I only have 2 cash crop autos and I have some Somango xxl that has been on its way for months now. I’d like to cs one of each, and do the cash crop with a cash crop and a Somango with a Somango. Being that they are already auto fems would that give me what I want?

Autos are a little harder to get proper/stable seeds from...more rounds of breeding needed.
If memory serves me right its something with the "auto" trait/gene that is recessive so you may have to re-breed it a few times with itself before you get a stable auto seed(s).
I'm sure someone with more experience can explain this better then me...lol

I used cs for a few weeks daily on a single branch. I gave up, and two or 3 weeks into 12/12 that branch started throwing male flowers. It had been 3 weeks since i had last sprayed the cs. Got some beans now, so i call it a success. Hopefully the beans are worth it

I hope they are too brother! This was my first outdoor season and everything that could go wrong went wrong. Plants hermed and I lost 35 of em and the ones that didn’t get pollenated by the herms were no where near ready. Next year I’m not even gonna fuck around I’m just gonna breed an ass load of autos and they’ll run and be done before the weather can even get a chance to fuck them up.
