Hello,

My seedlings have problems I think, I'm not too sure whether its too much heat or too much light, and wandering if any of you guys can tell me what the signs are.

Thanks.

Peace.

quote thee above and unless your over 33 watts per square foot with HIDs too much light is usuly not a common prob.

Ok thanks guys, dont know what my wattage is per square foot, but I have tent which is 5x5x7 and I have a 600watt dual spectrum HPS and my seedlings are 16 inches from the light.
My girls have been in soil 6 days and they are about 1 and a half inches tall. I have one amnesia, which is ok, but I also have 3 super lemon haze that dont seem as strong and are pale and growing slower, one has slightly wilted leaves.

Peace.

sounds more like heat to me with you saying 600 hps. have you got cool hood? have you put your hand at plant level to see if too hot??

My hood is a Magnum XXXL hood, I have a fan running through it, just a nomal fan though and ducting at the other end. When I put my hand under the light where my girls are, it does not feel hot, I have a big tower fan running over them, and that kick ass, it keeps them cool. Thats why I think its too much light, the SLH are slightly pale, although the amnesia seems strong and happy.

Peace.

different strains can thrive in diff temps. my wonderwoman loves it warm. in the summer my tent hit 90s and she never stressed. you havnt got too much light m8. i have a 600 hps, 3 plant scrog and in a 1.2m2 tent. ( about the same as yours) and mine is fine. without pics my friend i can only guess heat stress. u have a min/max thermometer?

My camera battery just died, and that HPS screws up the white balance, even a quick tinker in PS cant sort them out, I should have used flash. See the seedling with droopy leaves?

yea i see them. look a little stressed but not as bad as i thought 2 be honest. they need loadza humidity and keep that light away. what is that soil? looks like lots of perlite.

The soil is 1 third normal soil from a field, (excellent rich soil where I am,) 1 third decent compost from a garden centre and 1 third perlite.
I've just been made redundant from my job and I was nearly finished my growroom, but not quite, so I've got to work with what I've got, hence no propagation light or inline fan for my hood, there is a picture of my tent in the link. This is my first ever grow.

Mist all your walls with a sprayer about 5 or 6 times through the day and raise your light to about 24 inches above if not more dont worry to much about stretch at the mo u can always rectify that wen transplantin into bigger pots !!

1st of all nice setup. u got the general idea definitely. when better luck comes your way you can invest in that extractor cos you gona need it m8. 2 control that heat mainly as well as good air exchange. you got loads of air movement, plenty of that. but once your extractors on it will pull fresher air into the grow room so then that vertical fan u got can blow it round the room and then back out. if you have a spray bottle, mist them as the lights go out just to giv em that bit extra humidity. apart from that you doing great so dnt panic man. it all comes together faster than you think it ever could. just be patient, keep that light high (till u have extraction) and dnt drown your plants, let the soil dry out a little. keep it up and keep me posted man. peace

Excellent, thanks very much, as bad luck would have it, my timer broke but I'm pretty good at keeping my lighting times rigid. I do have a spray bottle and I like spraying the leaves and creating a mist. I never over water and I like to get the soil dryish (I judge by touch and weight) before watering again, and then I water till I get the first sightings of run off.

Im expecting a rebate from the taxman, so if/when it comes through I can finish my setup.

Thanks for all the help, very much appreciated.

Peace.
