Are you using hydro or soil/organic. Alot of people say its a myth dude and it actually does more harm than good. Thers some good threads about this topic on here.

hmm... hard to say without being there in person. its really a judgement call man. ive never had a problem with flushing too early, or not flushing at all for that matter (i tend to forget when it comes to large outdoor crops). i like to wait until i think my plants are totally ready and then wait another 3 days to flush in darkness.
like dimebag said - ive experimented with many different methods and dont notice a huge difference.
when in doubt, wait it out!

go at least a week, all that time and work for if it don't taste good. Bad choice flush ten days minimun with 3 tbls mollasses a gallon. Get a flush its really worth it imo. Do a test and take a few buds off and then do what I said, what the pros do. Im not trying to sound concieted but you will thank me. All that sweetness leeched up makes for a better more triche covered smoke that burns perfect day one and tastes like heaven

Unless you just want to flush to be one of the crowd or follow whats popular (myth) then use some time reading on the subject, your plants will thank you.

The practice of final flushing has been scientificaly debunked for years now, hydro shops, unscroupulous nutrient manufacturers & growers who say things like "ive heard" are whats keeping this assanine practice alive.

All the scientific white papers debunking flushing as pure myth have been posted right here on riu for you to read, please educate yourself why flushing is bad for your plants, the more growers who are educated as to the myths of mj the better for the entire mj growing community.

i've got two plants coming up ready, one i'm going to flush with the mollasses and the other i'm going to leave as normal. going to start flushing tomorrow for 15-20 days. i was going to flush them all when they're ready but the results of this experiment will determine how i go about the rest of my grow, its probably a personal preference thing. but i'll repost with results

I like my budz to taste clean, but I can see where it kinda tastes empty, but thats the lack of ferts. Thats how I enjoy my herb with no shit in it and by the way I cure for over two months and I live parttime in humboldt so I may have a little bit of a homefield advantage, huh. Gotta cough to get off right, that burn in your throat is phosphates being put into your body.
I used to use plain water but I also used to ride a tricycle.

When you get it right,,,,
No burn, cough (unless you get pigish), no grass smell.
Just simply smooth and enjoyable smoking.
Not just the cure, everything is a prelude to the final results.
If your getting burn & cough you're doing something not quite right.
Flushing is a handi-cap or nothing more than a band-aid that one hopes will compensate for lack of knowledge.
Spent a lot of years flushing until I learned the error of my ways.
I'll flush(?) often during the grow,, but nute to the cut.
It doesn't stop developing until a bit after the cut. So why would one want to starve the plant at the criticle end of time?

Mr. Wilson,, Just because you live in Humbolt, means you know it all??

Read Ryder's link. You'll learn something. (and quit spreading false info.... okay?)

Finally, more people to fight the good fight against people spreading bad info about flushing! It's refreshing to see.

OP, flush 3 days prior to 36 hours of darkness if you feel you must flush. You'll be glad you didn't flush for 15-20 days...and so will your buds.

Can you show proof please? I'd say that Ryders thread on flushing is all the proof we need to show that flushing is bad for your plants. I'd like to see you show me otherwise, and not just because you live in some special city where flushing does something other than harm your plants.

Well thats what I do in terms of flushing and what I've been taught. I am a newb but trust me I have lots of experience in my neck of the woods. That being said I am going your way and Hopeflly going to be surprised. I truly hope so. I just mimic what the pros do Ed Rosenithal? ,jorge cervantes and the multiple seedbanks, collectives and co-ops I have lived near out west in BC too. Also every cup contestant/breeder does it my way

BUT Your post and your expertise are probably more informative than the people who write the leading literature, and the individuals who made the rules.

You should feel ether really smart or really dumb
