If you were going to start some plants inside and let them grow for a month when would you flip the lights to 12/12 to sex them. Would you do it after 2 weeks? Or wait till the last week? I know this isn't the best way to do it considing stress but if you had to do it that way how would you do it?

What are your plans revegging after you know the sex or just continuing to flower them out after discarding the males?

Plan to veg after sexing keeping one. Male. Can't put anything out for another month so might as well. Get them a foot. That has been the plan all year.

It's really not a matter of time. It's more a matter of nodes. IMO when they get 4 to 5 sets of leaves then turn the light back.

So right now they have one going on two sets of leaves and the light is at 15/9. So when there are 5 sets of leaves turn it to 12/12? Then after a week or so and I know the sex turn them back to veg?

I would put them out after the third node. But that's Grandpa.

I would not waste the time inside. Could I ask the reason you want to keep in inside for a month? I would just put them out as I said above and keep an eye on it. It will give you plant a chance to get used to the out doors and take off. I'm old school this is how we grew in the old days before they refined the beautiful light systems we have today!

It's always better to know the sex of your plants ahead of time and only put out females. It's expensive and a waste of time to, say, put out 20 plants of unknown sex and take care of them for 3 months only to have to pull half of them anyway.

The best way to do it, I think, is to start a bunch of seeds early, and take a clone off each plant. Keep track of which clones came from which plants and put the clones under 12/12 while still vegging the original plants. Once you know the sex of the clones, you know the sex of the originals and they can be your mothers. If you start early enough, you can grow out each female clone and only put out clones of from the corresponding plants that you like the best.

Either that or use feminized seeds. I don't have the room right now to do what I just suggested, so I always used feminized seeds. A lot of people don't like fem seeds, but I've grown around 50 plants over the past few years from feminized seeds and have yet to have one hermie.

Agree but I've decided t use regular seeds this season switch the light before I put them out so I know what ones are female and let them reveg. I know it causes stress but I believe it will be ok. Next season il prob get fem seeds then I may even clone.

I was just thinkin maybe I could switch the light earlier so the males wont be so big and take up as much room plus easier to discard.

Before I even consider a fem strain I do my homework. If I read a single report of a single male flower even without pics I won't even think about running that strain from fem seeds.
