i have the evo shift 4g and i like it fine. i manually check for updates because it doesn't alert me. the updates are almost always a major improvement. still can't edit desktop folders, though.

i got the shift understanding that i would be losing out on a bit of stuff to have the slide out keyboard. there's not near enough storage and it's not very powerful but fuck all that touch screen keyboard crap. i have big meat mitts and touch screen keyboards are for bony delicate hands.

interestingly, my keyboard is fucking up and i have to press the left keys and it's very hard to type. the qaz keys, the comma key, and the function keys are all fucked up. still better than touch screen imo.

and fuck you, sprint. how come my phone roams in my own living room? and why do i still not get 4g service here? burn in hell :finger:
lol i hate mine, my keyboard is fucked too, but i guess this phones been through it too... did you get the new update.. mine wont pull it up even if i go into settings and try to get it

no firmware update available

tried to update profile and got: "the profile update could not be completed. please try again later. if problem persists, contact customer service. error code 1012

prl update=your prl has been updated. tap ok to continue

htc software update="your phone is up to date. there are no updates for your phone"

i last updated about 6 months ago. the only thing it won't let me do is update the profile.

Got a question for everyone....

My buddy has Sprint (i think) and with his Andorids he can change the look his battery bar, signal icon and all the stuff at the top notification bar. He can have it black, or switch to blue and a few others. This changes the whole "theme" of the phone. Even the phone/menue/ settings buttons at the bottom change. So how is this done? With my phone I can't seem to figure it out or it just cant be done.

Not all phones do that. It's probably an option for your buddies phone but not yours. Each phone has different features. If they were all the same then what would be the point, ya know?

I wish I could change my LED notification color, but my phone doesn't have the option

he can download different ones too now that I think about it. I feel like its the carriers that allow it

Well, if it's an option on the phone, then he could simply download new ones directly onto his phone from the app store or where ever.

Go Launcher is a large file, but has all kinds of upgrades and shit. i just never really liked it too much of a hastle. Phone was slower and froze a few times. You also lose the ability to toggle through music from the lock screen.

I immediately deleted Go Launcher. It changed my layout and idk... just didn't like it while I was medicated earlier hahaha
