Why dispensary weed SUCKS!

I like to get a sample from the dispensary to try different strains. This is super sour. Don't mind spending $20 to try something new.

Since I am in a prohibition state with no legal dispensary nearby, my only option is to grow my own. There’s a whole lot of junk out there. There’s a whole lot of scammers out there, too.

The beauty of this plant, though, is that you can find something you like, and you can make more of it. It’s fun to grow, and it’s fun to make your own seeds, too. Who knows, you might just make something truly magical.

DrDuke " I could see buying 15+ week Sativas from a dispensary. I mean that's hard for me to grow, so i can see buying small amounts of many different Sativas. " I don't understand. Is your setup in a pumpkin that disappears? After a 7 or 8 week flower suddenly there is no more light or warmth and the whole place turns into Siberia? I have grown out Malawi twice once at 22 wks and once at 16 wks. I didn't die. You wont either.

As to buying from the dispensary to try it out (of which I have been guilty) that is a fantasy in YOUR MIND. What you bought WILL NOT reflect what you grow. The guys growing dispensary stuff are on a time table and want it out the door as fast as it can get. The BBG I bought DID NOT taste like what I grow. Nor did the Durban Poison I just recently bought resemble the 16 week seeds I have in my 'vault'. It barely tastes of anise but you can sure taste that indoor dispensary sweet mediciny taste.

The commercial growers only care about making a quick profit. They aren't gonna care about quality/taste or anything else. It's all about being able to make a flip to the weed shops and lying about THC %.

It's kinda like when you go to the grocery store to get a tomato. Yeah, you can get a tomato -(well, it looks like a tomato, anyway). But if you have ever grown your own, heirloom tomatoes, then you know that the grocery store tomatoes aren't really even tomatoes! But those huge commercial places can't grow vine ripe heirloom tomatoes because they don't ship or store well. What the commercial industry supplies are tomatoes that can ripen OFF the vine and maintain their integrity during shipping. They couldn't care less whether you like the flavor or not. That's what they want you to believe is a tomato. Same thing goes for weed, I Think.... Many of these people in the huge industry, don't lose any sleep at night whether or not they are supplying the highest quality product. They just show up, punch in and punch out.

Do you folks down South have many micro growers in the retail industry? On the rare occasion I do buy from a shop, I try to stick with the smaller Western based growers that have more limited size allowances for cultivation. The nice thing for them is that they are allowed to sell to the retailers like the standard (larger) operations.

This is from May of 2021, so I'll assume we have more at this point.

https://stratcann.com/news/200-micros-now-licensed-in-canada/#:~:text=Canada now has at least 200 micros cannabis, and 31 are dual micro-cultivation and micro-processing licences.

Do you guys goto dispensaries just for the variety? Because growing my own gives me all i need really. I could see buying 15+ week Sativas from a dispensary. I mean that's hard for me to grow, so i can see buying small amounts of many different Sativas.
I had some big fun grows with HID and then i switched to a smaller cfl grow before i moved to CO. Ive just not had the time to grow since, however... i just got some white widow, alaskan thunderfuck, northern lights and purple hindu skunk feminized seeds that ill start here shortly. its been 10+ years since ive grown but im gonna try led this time.

Blue dream is just one example I used since it is my personal favorite it’s really not the point here, doesn’t really matter what strain it is as long as it’s pre cookies. I’d say it’s more rare for somebody to like cookies over blue cream than otherwise since blue dream is across the board the top favorite strain on top ten lists across the internet.

If you come to CO, try Good Chemistry. They are in a few states. They create strains often that are different and super good smoke.

Its about $100/oz with a good ol med(discount) card

Yeah, some states do have licensed micro growers. They have such license in my home state of NY, but regulators have yet to make them available.
