Why do some people struggle with bongs?

Sharing a bong is extremely unsanitary. I can't believe anyone is still doing it. I don't share a bong with anyone. I've seen too many people slobbering into them to where you could see it running down the inside. They're fine to use by yourself but disgusting to share.

Gotta love the direct cough into the bong....

In high school me and my buddies all got whooping cough from sharing a bong. It is an extremely unsanitary device if shared.
I stopped sharing bongs decades ago. Too much crap out there that I do not want to catch.

My friends never liked to use bongs with me. I have a little trick, so I can take bigger bong hits than most people. I've tried to teach people it, but most people don't get it.

Basically I clear the plain air in the chamber while I continue to keep the smoke moving. Then start inhaling pure smoke first.

Most people start with plain air in their lungs, then smoke, then more air. I do pure smoke then air. No air at the beginning. It makes it way less harsh, and I can usually always clear a bowl. And like I said, I keep the smoke moving the whole time.

I don't like when the smoke sits still and goes stale. It also gets harsher when mixed with air.

Wait but you don't think sharing a joint is unsanitary? The number of people I've had lecture for slobbering on a joint, and there has even been one or 2 people in my past we just *refused* to share joints with because that person does not know how to keep the saliva in their mouth lol.

I used to enjoy a single honeycomb bong, small bowls done in one hit with enough room in the lungs to draw in fresh air after the smoke. But after few years of exclusively vaping, hitting the bong was fucking disgusting. The bong was clean, but the hit tasted horrible, felt horrible and smelled horrible for a long time after it was gone. I felt more nauseous than high. Fuck combustion lol.

I bought a volcano before and some other vaporizers along the way and it always starts out the same "Such a clean hit," but I always go back to joints. There is more in there for us than just the stuff you can vape on the surface I feel and it always seems like I'm missing the high, like high-lite. Gave my volcano to a friend.

Anybody else remember that article from years back about why bongs are actually bad for you? Apparently by cooling the vapor they make it more comfortable for you and you end up keeping the smoke in longer than is useful and end up doing more damage to your lungs because of it. Personally I still use a bong from time to time, but joints are daily. Also remember reading a debate on another site which basically said that all the cannaboids that your lungs can absorbed are absorbed within seconds and holding smoke in for any longer is just damage. Remember reading some pretty impressive "scientific" reasoning behind the arguments but again I don't really care, not trying to conserve weed by holding a lung of it till I almost black out.
