Why do the Kessil H350 Deep Purple's suck so much ass?

Im here to learn about cannabis, not why you have an unprofound fetish to ruin perfectly good threads- you made a point in the last one, "why do we get sunburnt in more southern regions.." and youre right, but when you deliver like you do. your just a dick.

But that doesn't mean that thread is "retarded," or unjustified, it just means there are people more curious that want to delve into their work a little more- than you do.

I don't get you. I would respect you as I do several others on here...but i cant get past your bullshit, you know your shit, but its so fogged by just... utter disregard for anyone else' view and/or opinion that it literally makes your word worthless, when it could be priceless...bummer dude, and im not trying to talk shit or bash lol or whatever, Im just hoping youre aware of your actions and wish you could really see the impact of your decisions. Everybody has the ability to be great, it's up to them if they are.

Talent..... hm..

Talent is learning to play an instrument and creating your own diverse sound from it... or knowing step by step how to swap out a transmission, and not have to backtrack... speaking of your individual experiences, or life in general- is not. That's life.

I was at work up till about 45 minutes ago, I prioritize my life in the correct manner to know. Moderation is key, for anything. My grandfather was an alcoholic, I am aware that I have an "addictive, attachable" gene/trait and being aware of that let's me stay in control and know when enough is enough.

"discipline is the refining flame by which talent, becomes ability"

Broaden that spectrum Fonz
Well put Scotch, couldn't agree more sir. For whatever reason I can't "like" your posts right now, but spot on.

Thanks Fran,

Seriously, id love the opportunity to get my hands on a few Kessil's and run em with a more intense light..even a 250w or 400w MH would rule.. Just gotta run it right, even I know that.

Just gotta wait it out, prices will drop with new technology

I am considering trying something out, using the 2 Kessil for 2hours at lights on, then switch em off after the 2 AF600 are on for 8 hours, then 2 more hours of the Kessils ... to mimic the sun and save power, what do you guys think? I wonder how much it would affect the yield.

You don't think that'd stress your plants out? Idk, maybe if the Kessil slowly dimmed while the other grew brighter and brighter. Just thinking out loud here, Idk.

I couldn't see it stressing it..unless it just couldn't handle the wavelength altogether.

I think your onto something about mimicking the sun, I dono how much itd affect yield...but potency? Maybe with intense enough light you could see a rise in yield in the "core saturation" spots.

I havnt checked the specs(lenses), but they look as if like to have a spot light affect, so I think it'd be a trade off for one or the other... unless you just got a shit ton of em. Then it'd just be inneficient..

Yeah Endo, I've always thought this "all lights on, all lights off" cycle isn't healthy for the plants. I've definitely been thinking about turning certain lights on and off during the course of the day, especially if I go with adding UVB this January which will only be running for 4 hours a day. Problem is it's hard using a whole bunch of different timers and expect them to stay in sync. I re-sync my 5 timers once a month. An Anduino setup would be best or one of those expensive horti timer controllers if you've got the cash. And dimmable LEDs would be even better.

I agree!!

The freakin light should come with a timer , .. especially the 600watters, it's not like you can plug 2 of those on a timer (I mean you can but best not unless you got it rated 1750watts+)

So the light has a timer on top, and you can choose to slowly increase/decrease light intensity during the day... (8am switch 1 on, 10 am switch 2, 11 am switch 3, 12am switch 4, then from 2 pm the circuits start to go off one by one.

I think light intensity is fairly important to grow big frosty buds but I dont think you need a full 12 hours of it.

But yeah even to have my 2x600 watts on for only 10 hours (2 hours using 180watts of kessil), would save me 1000watts 2 hours a day, and I really dont think yield would suffer ... :eyesmoke: The more I talk about it the more I want to try it!!!

I like your guys' thinking. I sort of do something similar, not via a timer but by hand, in the AM I only flip on 1/2 the lights, then after a few hours I go full blast, then in the evening I kill some of the lights and dial back the power. No clue what kind of effects it has if any, but it helps on the power consumption.

I think eventually that will happen with built in dawn-till-dusk simulators on the led grow panels much like the ones already available in the reef community. we talked about this before(i think) w the new cidly panels having this option??? Problem is all this extra tech to fail in these panels/ keep it simple--maybe.

http://reefbuilders.com/2012/10/18/eshine-aquasun/ I absolutely agree that slowly decreasing/increasing the light IS the way to go much like slowly bringing down the hours over weeks for flowering.....

I agree with the decreasing/increasing light, and with keeping it simple, and that's what the built-in timer would be all about, you dont have to go out and buy a timer anymore! and how hard would it be to make something so simple reliable, I mean, they dont need mad scientist to figure out how to wire this up.

If you want to mimic sunrise and sunset and fall. Run IR lights only for 20 min before and after other lights turn off am on. The last week of flower dim light to 75% then to 50% and add more 660 and 730 to mimic fall

How much less light you use on a panel in the morn is irrelevant. The sun at 7 am is more intense than panels at full power.

its about saving power, but also my plants are at different stage so it has to work the same all the time. I think it would still mimic the sun this way because the sun is only full intensity for a few hours of the day.

They suck because thats not all a plant needs.

Sure.. it helps specific things occur, may make cannabis produce more of its natural sunscreen, those "crystals," but if you seriously just throw a plant under one of those things and think its gonna kick......,..,..welll.

Thats one basic plant.

I have never used Kessil products but have heard a whole bunch of bad shit, but personally, I think they'd be sweet at the right price, and used correctly

Ie. get 4 of a specific colour spectrum mounted at the corners of HID hood, or to help out a larger CFL grow for those stealth lovers needing a boost, I would personally be all over the hood setup with 4-6 different lights/wavelengths of reds and blues for the right price.

idk, Ive never used em but just by looking at them; you can tell they're not intended to grow by themselves.

Think outside the box, broaden your sprectrum.
So......

Just by looking at something you can tell if it's shit, but broaden your mind, and think outside the box....
Right.

I have them, and I use them. I like growing with them, by themselves or with other lights.
Why will people not grasp LED's are not intended to grow 25' plants? For either side of the
argument? They do well with small plants in a small environment. That's it.

lol all im hearing is "same team?"

Do you grow them as a sole light source? Have you posted any journals? How is it? Any supplemental lighting? One color or a set or wavelengths? Who's trying to grow Christmas Tree's again?

Ill stick to my 3.905 sq.ft. scrog thank you.
Let's not be counterproductive.

Picked up 3 H150s today, 2 purple and 1 red for a grand total of $100 thru Craigslist. They seem to be working alright, except one of the purples has a lighter hue than the other. Kinda disappointed about that, but all in all, it was a pretty good deal. Call me crazy, but half a day later, I feel like I'm already seeing pretty good growth. I'll have to transplant soon, hopefully I can keep you guys updated since there's not much info about growing solely using some Kessil LEDs. Got my fingers crossed.

^^^^sweetness!! Even if it is a placebo affect- more light helps!

Keep us posted!

..even better, start a journal- very interested

I have grown a plant strictly under the kessil h350. I had too close though. I had fucked up with the plant early on but it grew big buds. You will be better served because I only had the magenta and you have the purple as well. You'll get some good smoke out of them.

I'm keepin' mine 12" away, I've heard that it can burn up-close. Trying to educate myself as this is the first grow. My whole reason for the LEDs was to save energy and cut heat. I'm running them off my solar battery part time, really psyched about being able to do that. SoCal generally has very good sun but in December, there's nothing to brag about. Haven't really decided whether to do any pruning, not sure whether I want to add recovery time to the mix. I'll probably stick to some LST but keep researching, see if there's anything guaranteed. Any recommendations for a "Sour OG"?

I'm running the Kessil H350s. I'd say that 12" or so is good for early veg but come flower, I had mine within 6 - 8 inches and it's working great.

I don't use only LED lights though as this point. I'm supplementing with fluorescent. I'm not really sure why other than for experimental purposes, one would grow with only one spectrum/light source. I've found that multiple sources works very well. I do plan on going LED only this next year - I've just got all the parts on hand this week - but the lights (multiple) will be very different spectrums.

I've also been considering mimicing the sun for sunrise and sunset and was taking a little bit of a look at what the reef guys are doing. The LEDs that I'm going to build are dimmable by pot but maybe in the future I'll add some auto system. I don't know...I'm not keen on too complicated...so whatever would have to be simple or forget it.

Also, on the Kessils - get a can of compressed air and blow them out. They do have fans so material does get inside and electricity and dirt do not get along well and you don't really know what conditions they were run under so far. Even with a clean grow room, I'd shoot some compressed air through occasionally..even if just at the end of the grow.
