Will tricromes still turn amber on upper 30s-40s at night?

It's been getting really cold at night in the last week. Two frosty nights but supposed to go back in the 40's at night. In the day it gonna be in the 60's-70s though! Will my Indica dominant buds tricromes still be able to turn amber in the cold? I have them in a pvc hoop greenhouse but I left the ends open to get more airflow and so humidity doesn't build up. It's too big to heat it but keeps the rain off my plants! I need lots of amber for stoney sleepy bud. And don't want to cut early!

Hard to say, some hybrids don't take too well. My plants did alright until it hit a certain temperature then the buds lost density and some turned to crisp. I wouldn't suggest leaving them out too many nights in lower 30s, and taking them off if any colder. The trichomes will still turn but the buds wont get bigger if its too cold or take a very long time. The cold definitely helps build resin though. You should be getting really frosty buds.

All my plants are mostly indica dominant. And yes they are super frosty! The space queen is just ozing and still fairly healthy. I thought cause it had alot of sativia it, it would do terrible. But I was completely wrong! It's the best and most potent high yielder plant I have next to the Afghan Kush. It's so delicious, smells like apples and like almost like a rotten fruit. It's about maybe 5% amber but want to let get to almost half amber! I want to basically be launched to space like the good old days!

As someone in Wisconsin, who is about 2 have 3 straight nights in the upper 30s, you are going to be pleasantly surprised.

Obviously, some strains won't take well, but most hybrids will respond quite nicely to cooler overnight temps. The next day sun will perk right up.
Supposed to be 32 at sunrise but 34 is the dewpoint and they are saying that starts at 5 am. Do you think the fans out there will help or hurt?

Ok so everythings looking awesome but still want to wait a week or more. But we have mostly rain showers for maybe 4 days. Some days only a 40% chance. So hoping only really a few days of showers. My plants are covered with a greenhouse. And luckily temps aren't getting as low at night as last week. Any you guys think it's too risky to extend out another week in rainy weather? Really want that couch lock sedative stuff!

I had 12 hours of downpours in the low 40's lastnight/this morning and 30 mph winds all day with no cover and not a spot of rot. Tonight's low 40, tomorrow 33, and I have 2 weeks to go on half of them but not worried. Like I said here or another thread, I'm less stressed with the cold then I was with the wet, humid September I had with warm temps and high humidty, was chucking buds all day back then and barely any now... Ride it out is my advice.

Nice man I think the airflow and keeping them dry is the key! I only had maybe 4 grams to bud rot so far. And it was shitty lower nugs. I did get it on a lower cola but surgically cut out the bad part and havent seen it spread. I did harvest one of my shitty trainwreck plant. It had about 50% amber but small nugs. But damn made some awesome bubble full melt hash with some good buds and lower crap with the Bubble Bag Dude bubble bags! Not alot people make bubble hash anymore. I think it preserves the trichomes the most cause no heat is applied! Been 10 years since I had good bubble hash!

Nice enjoy man, can't wait till all the work is done and I can get blazed out of my mind. On top of that garden I have a vegetable garden I've been canning into the morning hours and cutting up and splitting wood into the afternoon then back to the bud garden lol. If all gets done in a matter of weeks I'm gonna have a nice toasty, toasted winter hahaha...

Yeah it's been one hell of a 6 months! Fruits of your labors worth it though! What strains are you growing?

I did Strawberry Gum(tastes like actual fruit gum), Jack Herrer, Gelat.OG and Blue Gelato 41. Pretty happy with the Jack and Strawberry so far. Nice to have some buds that aren't cut early with a speedy anxious effect. The Jack is a great daytime smoke but can melt into my chair or bed pretty easy. Strawberry Gum is pretty good too, a little for a nice cerebral buzz, little more and you know it's indicated lol. How's the hash?

Very nice so alot of sativa dominant strains! I'm assuming that's why your not getting as much bud rot by them having more sativa? And yes totally 2nd that about early cut shit! That's why I grew my own this year cause the dispensaries were so bad I could barely sleep! And the hash blew me away! I haven't been this high in over a year with dealing with the dispensaries crap! Especially the light cream hash like fully melts! It's seriously like heaven lol!

I’m in the same boat and getting advice from the same folks in another thread, we just got to hang in there. I’m ready for that couch lock too for all this hassle. We gonna make it.
