I guarantee that it won't fly away anytime soon. If you look at the pics, the cinder blocks are specifically angled right on the corners. It can't move to the left or to the right because of the way I have them on the corners getting both sides, also because of the way that I have them angled on the corners It can't move forward and because of the fence and rail behind it it can't move backwards. The blocks are about 30 lb each. Then you have the wooden deck underneath them and there's no wind coming up through that. About 35 mph / 40mph winds have already hit it, hasn't budged an inch

Yeah, this isn't a beach umbrella. With the cinder blocks on the corners and the other side pushed up against the rail, there's nothing to knock it over, .....the winds come from the side, not from the bottom, and since there's no umbrella-like top to it, there's no way a gust of wind is going to just pick it up and throw it somewhere.

But because of the build that I've made it doesn't get strong gusts that will randomly bend it over far and damage it.

Ya I get that there isn't a top. If you put a temp/humidity sensor in there you can make sure it isn't getting into less desirable values

Yeah nah it will be blown away if the winds are as strong as you imply they are. If the winds are not strong enough to blow it away as it currently is then wind protection just wasn't needed in the first place.

I don't know the type of plastic you're using, but it may block some of the sun's UV spectrum. Plus, the wind will help your plants develop a stronger stalk and better root system. We sometimes try to second guess nature, but nature always has a solution to things like this -otherwise we'd all be dead by now! ;)

It doesn't completely obstruct the wind. There's no top to it so plenty of wind spills over and shakes them around. But thanks for your input

Put a thermometer in the pot see whats happening.If not much change then its good.

Seriously though id anchor it physically with some paracord or something not just squeeze fit. Thinking if its really that windy it could just break it if it cant move idk if it was mine i wouldn’t do it
