Worth adding the light ?

I have 4 marshydro ts1000s . Coming in at 600w at the wall . Was gonna order two of the hlg r specs. They’re more of a flower light. They only pull 95 watts but are more efficient and brighter . My question is do you think these will be over kill with my 4 ts1000 ? I’d be at almost 800 watts in a 4x4 , you think that will be too much ? I think it’s 50 watts a square foot . Thanks in advance .

Though mars are not as efficient at 600w I would be happy in that space unless you feel your buds are not as dense.
On the other hand a couple of extra HLGs will mean points of light source and you can play around with the height to see what benefit you get come harvest.

I haven’t made it to harvest yet . Still in veg . I have a month before I make the switch to flower . I wanna make sure I’m happy with results and the more I look up the results of these lights the more I’m kicking myself for going this way . Could have gone a better route .

Such is the life of a grower my friend.

600w should produce good results but I don't own any mars, all my lights are HLG or growlightsaustralia

600w of reasonably efficient diodes like those in your Mars should be able to produce over 1200 umoles.
A 4x4 is 1.5 sq meters, so they should be able to produce an average ppfd of 800 over the canopy.
Adding another 200 watts(say about 450-500 umoles) is going to be in Gavita DE territory-you need to have co2 to take advantage of that much light.

Defiantly overkill in a 4x4. I can sing the praises of HLG all day but you are already covered. Now if you can afford to buy them I would say go for it. Having a couple spare lights is always a good thing if one can manage it in case of a failure. Your plants will not want to wait for the light to be repaired.

It’s kinda why I went with 4 ts1000 . Mars says 3 is adequate for a 4x4 . I got the extra for extra power and extra hardware . I’ll skip on the hlgs this time . See what Mars is capable of . Then maybe try . Since hlg is out of the question now . I’ll shoot to up potency and trichome coverage with some uvb lights from California. They don’t add too much in terms of wattage , and they only need to be ran for a couple hours verse the full length . Thank you gentlemen for your input .

I was considering adding some uvb to my main room, and from what I could find it seems that using fluorescent uvb fixtures is the most cost-effective way to generate enough output to make a difference.
Agromax makes some decent bulbs.

I will have to look up the Agromax . I only saw the California light works uvb. I was thinking about grabbing two of them . They’re only 25 watts each. I like the idea of it . On paper it sounds like it makes sense . I would just love to see some cold hard evidence. I hear numbers of 20-30% trich/resin increase .

From what I read Solacure had the best UV bulbs. May want to give them a look if you are heading down the UV path.

Do you think the two 4 foot fixtures are enough?
Should be fine in your space. It says use 2 per 1000 watt hood, one on each side. Here is the blurb from their web site. They have some great info on the link I provided. Here is a section on usage.

"Use two Flower Power lamps per 1000w hood, one on each side for even coverage, 12" to 24" from the plants (farther is weaker so needs to be run longer, but covers a larger area). Run 1 to 4 times per day, 1 to 6 hours per cycle for up to 12 hours (single cycle). How much depends on your particular plants, so start with 2 to 4 hours and work your way up, looking out for burned edges. The goal is to stress the plants, push them, without damaging them. Only run during your day cycle. Use during flowering and fruiting stage. Also proven to suppress mold and mildew as well as discourage many insects."
