So just to clarify, my plan for tomorrow when I get back from work is to flush it with plain water at pH 5.7 until I get similar runoffs. Once flush is complete I make my feed at 5.7 and 0.8 and start adding calmag on Wed.

Yup. If your not comfortable with adding 4.5 ph go around 5.2 and see. This is something you’ll have to regulate. The end result is the same. Ph in should be close to ph out doesn’t have to be exact. I’m a rdwc grower mostly. I let my ph swing between 5.5 and 6. So coco growers do the same or at least I do with my coco plants. Good luck and let us know how it all un folds.

I'll make the water at 4.5, should be good if you say so. I've just checked the little pot with fresh coco (the experiment you wanted me to do earlier) its still at 6.7 whereas water was at 6.3. Thank you very much, you have no idea how grateful I am. I'll post my results tomorrow after flushing.

I just got back from work and had a look, the leaves have become a lot more perky even though the pH is probably same as yesterday. I've decided not to flush them today, I'll wait till tomorrow as I'll have the calmag so I'll do water at 4.5 and calmag to flush the coco. I'll still update you with my feeding results today.

Soooo, here are the results. I was expecting better results today but not much has changed since yesterday. Tomorrow is the big flush so I'm hoping to get the coco pH down a lot, I think somewhere around 6 would be good and then keep feeding them lower pH, let's say 4.5 on a daily basis. Do you think I could go even lower than 4.5 with plain water when flushing?

So pour pHed water until it reaches 6. Put them in your sink or bathtub. It may take 25 litres or more.

No. It should be easy. If you say mix at 5.8 pour until the runoff matches. So pour 10 litres through. Let sit. Pour another 10 and see if it changes. Do this on one plant so you’ll know what to do on the rest. I would rather pour more water then less water with such a low ph.

Okay, that's what I wanted to know. Thank you. Do I use 1ml/L of calmag when flushing or after flushing when I make my feed?

i would add the calmag after. As the weeks go on just add a little more ea time. So 1-1.5 ml. Check with your EC meter add 1 ml /l see what that gives you. In ppm. 150 is a good start.

I've just poured 20l through plant 1, run off after 10l was 7.4, yesterday it was 6.8. After another 10l it's 7.3. The numbers on photo are the only ones I could find printed on the bag.
