For those who SCROG.. How many times do you tend to Top?

I literally pancaked mine with the screen when they were a few feet tall. Screen filled in a few short weeks.

I've done both the super-cropping style ( pancake them with the screen ... ) and the weaving style. Both work well. And yeah - it doesn't take long for them to bounce back after they have been pancaked either.

These were mainlined so topped 3 or 4 times. And definitely did alot of tucking. I actually weave though. All my net has 1.5" squares. This is one net.

Topped once and let them go. I used the netting for support only this round. This is double net. Bottom net is for spacing the top level is for support

How many times to top depends upon your space and time constraints.
When I am not pumping out breeding plants, I veg a plant to fill a 4x4 trellis, so I can pull over a pound.
How long that takes depends upon the plant I am vegging.
One of my favorites is a Kosher Tangie that has medium internodal length, but is so flexible that I can weave it through a trellis to use every inch of space.
I will sometimes veg for 10-12 weeks, and pull enough to leave that clone alone for months.
But I have indica's that will just sit and waste time rather than getting bigger. If I top them once I lose half my weight.
Usually you just get used to what you have, and make personal choices due to grow size and time to grow.

An update folks. The power was knocked out this past Saturday @ about 2:00 PM. The juice is to be restored tonight @ 11:00 PM. Some quick math tells me the two girls have been without light for 5 days and nearly 3 hours. Not much is visible down there but there has been a little daylight coming in through a basement window and I am pretty sure that they have tried to stretch towards that weak light source. In other words, they will look lanky AF.

Once the power is back on, I am going to cut all that top shit off and VEG a little longer to see if I can produce some decent growth. Then it's taking some cuts and rebooting this SCROG. *** SIGH! *** Well ... at least the power didn't crap out 6+ weeks into BLOOM. If it did, I would be sounding like Yosemite Sam on steroids about now.

Anyone else have a similar tale of the derecho from last Saturday?

Once the cycle was broken you have a really good chance of them starting flowering soon as you turn the light back on from what I've been told breaking cycle. The growth is only for foliage you can bud out a 6" plant if you want.
The light cycle matters and once shorter then 12/12 they will flower.
Might be best to let them and start over after.
Even your clones or seedling you had under light might flower.
Just a edumicated guess.

There were no pistils or signs of crowning so they weren't in flower. There were a few brown leaves but overall they were not bad for only seeing sunlight through the basement window. A light VEG feed early Friday afternoon then under the BSpecs @ 24". Late Sunday afternoon they were vegging again - so that night I took the cuts:

I took a few more cuts of each strain this time ... you know, just in case.

But I think we are back on the rails ... thanks for the tips everyone. Enjoy your grows!
