It's time again for Major League Baseball. :D

MLB 2024 spring training kicks off tomorrow (Thursday Feb 22) with the LA Dodgers vs San Diego Padres.

Not sure if Shohei Ohtani will be playing but he was taking batting practice a few days ago.

4 more games on Friday, as well as a couple of exhibition games....Northeastern Huskies vs Boston Red Sox, then Minnesota Golden Gophers vs Minnesota Twins

The Toronto Blue Jays and most other teams start their spring training games on Saturday Feb 24th.

Go Jays Go!

cheers

Spring training ended yesterday which was enjoyable as one normally doesn't get to see the minor league top prospects from the A, A+, AA and AAA teams.

All the Toronto Blue Jay games were telecasted on Sports Network plus a few others games from the pineapple league, so it's been baseball almost everyday. The Jays didn't do great .443 (13 wins 17 loses) but as they say it's just the pre-season.

Some new players for the Jays, including Justin Turner and Isiah Kiner-Falfea but lost Whit Merrifield to Philly

The Baltimore Orioles were clearly the top MLB team with .793 (23 wins 6 loses), the Tigers & Red Sox finished well with .690 & .613

The LA Dodgers finished in top place the the NL with .667 (14 wins 7 loses) but we will see what happens with the Shohei Ohtani gambling scandal.

Pete Rose quote "Well, back in the 70s and 80s, I wish I'd had an interpreter. I'd be scot-free."

This is quite the blackeye for both the Dodgers and MLB....I would laugh if they suspend Ohtani but they likely won't.

The 2024 regular season starts Thursday March 28th

The Red Sox did well in spring training, and beat the 2023 World Series champions Texas Rangers twice (in Arlington) to wrap up the pre-season.

I think the Red Sox will do better this year than the previous years, but likely not enough to make the playoffs.

Did anyone see the Rockies @ D-backs....16-1

The D-backs scored 14 runs in the 3rd inning, they set a record for runs scored on an opening day game
