My water Reservoir fails after short time 3-4 day's. Please Help!

This looks like the same just with different label. I use up to 1,0g per 100l as an initial shock (my is 65% calcium hypo) before I add nutrients. This keeps the water crystal clear for one week, than the solution is gone. Refill with fresh water, shock, nutrients, pH, feed, gone, refill, shock and so on. Water is circulating in reservoir and getting straight hit by the lights.
Things I have noticed:
If you have nutrients already in your water (especially high dose of sulphur) and you add granular HTH, it can precipiate and form gypsum. I think this can be avoided by diluting HTH in small amount of water and than just poured inside. Never tried that because its one step more, which can be avoided just with the change of the order of mixing. Its kinda making your own bleach and than dosing it as liquid. This might be the way for you since for measuring HTH you need some fine scale to be exact. 1,0g is the high end dose for already nicely rooted plants, this dose sooner on may restrict root growth. I would suggest to start somewhere 0,4-0,5 per 100l to see if it is enough for your needs. Those days when the water is cold, it takes longer time to dissolve, but its not such a big deal, since during that time you also get the temperature up to where you need it. When there is hot the shock does not keep it clear for the whole week only like 5 days, thats the time I use peroxide or just let the rest run through the plants and mix a new res. I am getting lazy so less labour is always welcome in my case. When I look back, that peroxide is kinda shit stuff, IMo only good for treating root rot, which is not a thing in coco, unless you have gnats, where the peroxide also do a big nothing against them. Its a good mouthwash but thats all.
But lot of Pepole swear by Peroxide maybe we need more??? You think i don't have to Add Peroxide when i use this Chlor stuff? I have 0,1g scale i try to think how much i need for make a 5l Tank of that stuff for Easy using do you have recipe for a 5l tank?

Ditch that and switch to pool shock

I had so many clouded reservoirs when using h2o2 when I used it, not once since I’ve used pool shock.

Thank you so much sir.... I bought this stuff https://www.hornbach.de/shop/Schnell-Chlor-Granulat-1-kg/8734808/artikel.html
Cheaper and what you guy's say higher concentrated. Know i have to think how to mix a liquid solution with it maybe for 1 Liter Botte for easy usage.... And this chlor stuff don't harm the roots of the plant i fear litte

It looks like a litlle bit stronger stuff than I use, if I am correct its 75% calcium hypochlorite. Than I would go 0,25g per 100l and be exact on this weight. Do not eye ball!

When my Math is correct i mix 50g in 1000ml Water (Osmosis) and use from that stuff 1-2ml per 50l Tank? Ore make it more flexible for weaker solution 50g on 2000ml water.

What you think folks

If my math is correct that would equal 0,1-0,2g per 100l. I think thats a good starting point which definitely should not cause any harm to the roots. For how long it gonna last it mostly depends on temp and direct light.

I found this

1g per Gallon 3,78l and for a 40l Tank 2oz of this solution

My Pool Shark has arrived :)

I make a solution with it 1 Liter Osmosis with 1g Pool Shark I add to my 30 liter Nutrients Reservoir 15ml (0,5ml Shark) to it and the Cool part the PH doesn't change after i have added. At the End i mix also H2O2 to it 3ml/l just for more Oxygen i try to not put the Air Stone in it only a litte H2O2.

How often I have to add the Pool Shark to my Reservoir 5 day's ore 3 ore a Week? Is that true that i don't have to clean my Tank when the solution of nutrients is nearly empty? I read that i only add Water with Nutrients filled up and then Add Pool Shark again and just go on... Sounds like a dream i have so much work the last weeks with cleaning shit makes me tired! Thanks a Lot folks...

Yes.

Your h2o2 isn't concentrated enough to make it a problem, but as a general rule of thumb in life dont mix chemicals without understanding how they may interact with one another.

You right oh my... So I have to add the Air Stone to it yes? I have thought in summer times when the temps gets high i can add a H2O2 to my Pool Shark stuff to fighting against low Oxygen level. So then i need a Chiller then ore is there another option?

Find out what your friend is doing different.

Is his res sitting on concrete? is it as dark in the room as yours?

Losing the air stone will give you one less thing to worry about.

Oxygen is considered as poorly soluble in water. Its solubility is related to pressure and temperature. In freshwater, DO reaches 14.6 mg/L at 0 °C and approximately 9.1, 8.3, and 7.0 mg/L at 20, 25, and 35 °C, respectively, and 1 atm pressure. At temperatures of 20 and 30 °C, the level of saturated DO is 9.0-7.0 mg/L.

He is using now a chlorine Produkt so I am now but he bought 2 air stone new with a bigger pump

Not good? OK i remove the Air Pump temps between 18-20 Celsius the Water Pump Moving the Water so when you say the Pump is not good then i don't Add it and see how the Reservoir looks.

Pool shock keeps the water sterile. It does what the h2o2 is intended to do.

Hi Sir, you safed my live hehe, i mixt today q 1 litter Bottle with 1g Pool Shock and this solution i add 0,5ml/liter to my Reservoir and i remove the air stone. Do you know how long it takes to mix again from my Pool Shock solution 5 days then refill with water and Pool Shock? Thank so much for the Tip!

I would add pool shock every two to three days. If the problem persists, raise the amount you add, but don't add it more than once every 2 to 3 days.

p.s Hydrogen Peroxide (h2o2) quickly degrades back to water & oxygen. There are products like ZeroTol 2.0 that have a technology that makes the h2o2 "stable". If your reasoning for using the hydrogen peroxide (h2o2) is to keep reservoirs clean, chlorine bleach is cheaper and more effective.

do you know what ppm of chlorine you are giving your plants? when i use shock, i try to use 3ppm twice a week. you don't want to go over 5ppm or your plants will not like it.

Hi Sir, i do a mix of 1g Shock to 1l Osmosis and i Add 0,5ml / liter Reservoir in my Case 30 liter Tank so 15ml Shock. You think it's OK to Add every 3 Day's 0,5ml??? If so i will do that what you say. I will buy also a Chiller soon when the Summer come i have a tool to hold the Temps down!

That's why I bought that Pool Shark stuff.... Thanks a lot guys <3 I try don't to clean my Reservoir only add every 3 day's so that's what's sound good hope it works hehe
