  • You're very knowledgeable. This is my first plant. It's Sirius Black. Trichomes just starting to show Watching for color change as you suggested. The large fan leaves are yellowing. I'm not sure if that's normal since it's Fall and it's an outdoor plant. Also would like to know if the rain will affect the flowering process or the size of the flower?
    k0ijn,
As a former plant biologist (current med student) I'm frustrated with the lack of rigorous peer-reviewed knowledge, and the prevalence and spreading of myths even by authority figures with decades of experience.
I'd love to start a consortium that'll study transcriptomes & metablomoes of different strains.
I wanted to ask you for a good, peer-reviewed source of information about Cannabis cultivation.
    Thanks!

I have what looks like dirt on my leaves im hoping its not mold but if so is it to late to fix? In probably 6 week of flower in a greenhouse
Hi Koijn i use a green bag for co2 and mist it every 2 days or wrote about changing light in box. And of low humidity also i had my bag even with light but across the box i moved it down. maybe the heat is drying the co2 before it can work. possible for the low humidity?
Sorry Koijn typo on hi an your name. when i switched to flower nutrients roots turned brown they were white in veg. but bloom nutrients are brown I ask because they have products for everything they have a white root product. ignore it or is it of value? to late this grow but have a new batch right behind in veg waiting for the end of this cycle in flower box.
Gi JOijn have to keep questions shot. a lot of talk about removing leaves to give buds more of nutrients. I did half of what was said beginning of flower cycle an middle should i do more at end of cycle. Or is this another stupid thing being passed on. Also should i putmore nutrients at end of cycle buds really filling out the last 2 wks. hydroponic grow.
Hi koijn you and everyone are fantastic.first grow in the 11th week of an 8th week cycle but started count wrong, growing in home box 5'x38"x16" had 125 florescent changed to 200 2 1/2 wk ago. Plants have been sucking up 1 gallon of h2o each day end of cycle, or light. temp with 125 bulb was 72 74 now 84 86. humidity was 35 42 now 17 = 21

    Hydroponic grow
Hi, I've been following your thread on Trichomes and Harvesting. You've3 offered some very helpful info and I'm trying to understand if my trichomes are cloudy or if it's just lighting, I'm seeing no amber but according to the Aptus based chart I was given, it's supposed to be one more week of nutrients

    Can't ask more here...
Hey - impressed with your posts - especially the old flushing debate. Do u literally feed until chop? I'm in soil using house and garden nutes and soil - as well as shooting powder - it does seem strong chemically - are u suggesting that those nutrients don't go into the buds?

I feed until chop yes, assuming you aren't overfeeding you will never get an abundance of nutrients in the calyces. If you haven't had any issues with controlling the medium I would suggest you keep feeding, reaching critical mass is essential to get everything out of your crop, and nutrients are not stored in the calyxes so you have nothing to worry about.
    Hello k0ijn
What do you suggest the best temps Day/Night with Co2 in hydro, during flower?

    Thank you!
    k0ijn
    k0ijn
The optimal temperature range for growing Cannabis in any medium is 24-29 degrees Celcius.
If the temp goes below 15 degrees Celcius or above 31 degrees Celcius your plants will be adversely affected.

    Sir,
I am going to diverge slightly from growing/harvest/curing and present the question: If one desires high CBN in an already dried/cured flower, what would a likely process to get there from THC/THCA?
Specifically, how to elevate CBN in already dried/cured flowers or concentrates through oxidation of THC?
There is just not a lot of information on how to 'go wrong' by design.

That is a difficult question to answer here in full.

I will have to send you a PM since there is a character restriction on these profile pages.
    Hello k0ijn,

Looks tasty... a few seed companies produce Cinderella 99, but it looks like the Brothers Grimm Cinderella 99 is the original and best? but not available anymore.
Let me know if you have of a reputable source for Cinderella 99!
Do you have a second best?

    Thank you!!

I don't live in the US so I am not sure exactly where you can get it.
Another strain I can recommend is Super Silver Haze (Sativa dominant).
Most great hybrid strains trace their lineage back to the same pure strains, there are too many to name here but; Northern Lights, Skunk, Haze just to name a few.
    Hello k0ijn,
    I enjoy your informative posts!
What is your favorite strain and if available by seed, breeder?

    Thank you!!

Good to hear you find them helpful.
My favourite strain is Cinderella 99 which is a Sativa dominant hybrid but it's rather difficult to find depending on where you live.
Hello k0ijn, do you have any information on hydro PH levels in flower?
    k0ijn
    k0ijn
Hello OneloveGrower, the pH range is ~5.6-6.2 with 5.8 being the sweetspot. @ 5.8 pH all nutrients can be absorbed and thus keeping that level throughout a grow is optimal.

    Hello... Thank you very much!
This will be my first grow and first time using a loupe. Can you go in depth on trichome development vs. pistol development. Should I base my harvest date soley off my trichome maturation??? My clear/cloudy trichome ratio is at 70/30 and yet less than 5% of my pistol have turned to an amber color and resided into there buds. What Im really asking is if my trichs reach their optimal ratio for harvest and my pistol remain immature do I still harvest?
