Everything is stellar bro! Nice work going on there! The Cougar looks nice and happy, hope you enjoy her!
I want to know how to make them capsules do you have a link or tutorial? Also is it the same high like eating an edible? Edibles really get me twisted compared to smoking flowers or concentrates.

Peace
FM
Thanks FM, the Cougar is benefitting from a nice long veg. She will be primed for flower in another week or two once there is vacancy :joint:

I will post some pics and instructions ASAP, but basically I use Badkittysmiles tutorial. Kinda all over the place, which is why I simplified the instructions and printed them out to keep with my hardware. I only do it every few months so I have to refer back to it lol.

Excellent shot! At least you know that this is a beneficial mold
that is breeding on your molasses.

I grow vegetables in old mushroom blocks. They work together.

JD
Thanks JD! I thought it was pretty cool too. Do you mean you grow in mushroom compost?

OK, I'm going to journal my process for making hash capsules. I pretty much do everything just as Badkittysmiles does, but I will add a few notes. This can be done a lot of different ways that all work, but this way does seem to be about perfect for me. Lets get started. I will post pics first and then I will copy and paste the instructions in a bit when I can get to my typed notes.

Enjoy!

CannaCapsules

This recipe makes about 20 size "00" sized capsules. Strength is roughly ..25-.30 grams of hash per capsule. Read the entire recipe before even thinking about starting or you will die a gruesomely painful death.

Tools and Equipment
00 Sized gelatin capsules - capacity of roughly .91 ML.
Capsule Filler Kit (Highly recommended, but not required).
Oral Syringe for filling capsules OR 1ml pipette.
Small oven safe Pyrex baking bowl/dish preferably with cover.
Aluminum Foil.
Paper towels.
Oven.
Freezer.

Ingredients
5 grams of hash in fine powdered form (Dry ice hash extraction is preferred over bubble)
2.5 Tsp (12.5 ML) Coconut Oil
3/8 Tsp Soy Lecithin

Step One - Decarbing Hash

Place 5 grams of hash in Pyrex dish, cover and wrap securely with aluminum foil.
Preheat oven to 210F and place dish in oven immediately for 20 minutes.
Turn oven off, open door and leave untouched in oven for another 10 minutes.
Remove from oven and leave covered until hash reaches room temperature.

P1000805.jpgP1000815.jpg

Step Two - Adding Coconut Oil

Preheat oven to 250F.
Remove aluminum foil/cover and mix 1/4 Tsp of Soy Lecithin into the dry hash.
Mix 2.5 Tsp (12.5 ML) of liquefied coconut oil in with hash thoroughly.
Place covered hash/oil/soy lecithin pyrex dish into oven and reduce heat to 220F.
Leave covered pyrex dish in oven for 40 minutes.
After 40 minutes turn oven off, open door and allow to cool slowly to room temperature.
Once mixture is cooled, remove lid and mix in another 1/8 Tsp Soy Lecithin.

P1000827.jpgP1000828.jpg

Step Three - Preparing the Solution

Cover dish and place in freezer for 8 hours.
After 8 hours of freezing, remove the dish from the freezer and allow to reach room temp.
Keep dish covered and wrapped with aluminum foil.
Preheat oven to 220F, placing the dish into the oven during the preheating process.
After 40 minutes turn oven off, open door and allow to cool slowly to room temperature.

This is what my mixture looked like to this point. Be sure to mix this regularly throughout the next step. Especially if you're doing more than one batch at a time to maintain consistency.

P1000829.jpgP1000826.jpg

Step Four - Injecting Capsules

Place paper towels down on your work cleaned work area. This can get messy at times, but the cleanup is actually is cinch. Use a capsule filler kit in conjunction with your oral syringe or 1ML pipette to extract liquid from your Pyrex dish into the capsules and cap, OR hold an opened capsule in your hand protected with a paper towel and transfer liquid with pipette. Latex gloves are recommended for this stage as well.

IMPORTANT - I made 10 batches at once, so I not only had to continuously mix the oil/hash in between syringe fills. I also slightly warmed the hash a couple times to mix it more effectively by putting it on top of my 600 hood, it seemed to help and it didn't take long.

P1000834.jpgP1000832.jpg

When the solution is cooler the syringe doesn't want to take up oil as well, so watch out for air pockets, and be careful forcing them out like you would a less viscous solution. The syringe can give way and shoot stuff everywhere! I had to widen the tip of my syringe to work better with a thicker solution using a razor blade.

P1000838.jpgP1000841.jpgP1000844.jpgP1000845.jpgP1000846.jpg

I store in the freezer to harden coconut oil and prevent melting of the gelatin capsule. Enjoy!

Thanks for sharing, that is PIMP!!! Do they hit you like edibles? I know when I eat edibles its a completely different high then smoking.

Peace

Oops sorry I forgot to answer that FM. Yes, they hit you like edibles. Keep in mind I'm not very picky about the hash selection for these. Up to this moment I was still learning the process and tinkering with dosage, so I didn't want to use top shelf shit. I will do some more soon with higher grades of hash which should make for a diff buzz.

I figured these to be dosed at about .25g each. The low(er) dosages seem to make for less of a punch. If someone was picky about their hash selection and carefully selected their dosage, I would think they could avoid too much of a narcotic effect if that was one of their objectives.

While I do also use broken up mushroom blocks, and spoiled/failed
spawn grains, in my compost piles when I am soil making, what I was
referring to above was something a little different.

I took about 20 old blocks that I was was ready to give up on and I tiled
them on the ground in a rectangle between two long 4X4's. Then I piled
about 4" of soil on top of them and planted vegetables into this soil.

My intention was to use the blocks as a moisture reserve with the hope
that the fungi would both help the plants and to possibly fruit too.

This is actually similar to a technique that I have since seen, one developed
in Germany, that uses green logs to make larger scale berms on which
plants are grown. It is advertized as never needing watering because of
the water reservoir that the logs provide.

I found it again. It is called Hugelkultur.

The veggies all rocked, and I saw some Pioppinos and even one large Maitake.

Onward and upward,

JD

P.S. Here is a Portobello (A bisporus) fruiting from an Avocado in a pot:

I did not find the Maitake...that one looks really cool.

That's awesome dude. You know you have good shit in the soil when you have mushrooms growing IMO. I get some local compost around here that grows bunches of lil fellaz. Thanks for that info JD, my yard is really sandy soil so I'm looking to add some moisture retention this spring. Last year was our first go at a garden, not bad for our first year but still disappointing because I didn't prepare the soil as well as I should have.

High Swag! Just dropped by to check out your thread. Great read! Beautiful ladies throughout the pages. I'm subbed!
What's up Twistedentities? Thanks for finding your way here. Some pages are better than others lol, but thank you for the compliments! Glad to have some new company here. I update when I can!

So I thought I'd throw some feedback on the capsules. I took one on Saturday after a long day of snowmobiling to get some good rest. Holy sheeeeit, one pill knocked my dick in the dirt lol. A little strong for me even at the estimated .25-ish gram per capsule dosage lol.

They're great for just getting blazed right out though I guess lol. I will cut back a bit and aim for .15-.20 next run.

Chopping Vortex and Skywalker today. Will post pics soon.

I just smoked some SWOG. I love it. Nice flavor!

LOL at the story. I have heard that edibles can be strong, and different, in effect.

Thanks for sharing.

Sooo bad lol. That's why I need to lower the dose on these. I just want to get a buzz from one, get ripped off two. I'm gonna cut a batch in half next time and see how it goes. As we all know very well, you can always take more, but...... Puke, zzzzzzzzz, eat, drink zzzzzz. haha

JD! Rip the SWOG SON! Careful with the glass lol

Alrighteeee, its been a cpl weeks so here's an update on flowering ladies.

C99 lower half.

Super Lemon Haze Hangin!

SLH Trim.jpg

Vortex, RIPE for the taking! She was mainlined for 8 but I missed a couple side branches which I let go, ended up with about 11 colas. This stuff looks pretty dank but its amazing that it didn't have much smell to it. I'm hoping she will find her groove during cure.

Vortex3.jpgVortex6.jpgVortex7.jpg

Alaskan Ice.... Not much to say about her except holy sheeeeit. She has about 10 colaz 12-18" each. I think she's fading, she should be ready sometime next week :)

AlaskanIce18.jpgAlaskanIce3.jpgAlaskanIce.jpgAlaskan Ice5.jpg

FM, she's definitely Haze dominant IMO, fruity, but also STANKY and very sticky and resinous. We'll see in a couple weeks how she'll smell in a jar.

Thanks for following friends, grow dank!

Haha thanks guys you're too kind. I don't think I've ever seen a plant like that Alaskan Ice. I don't know how you would like the vortex just yet JD, I'm hoping she'll have some flavor but I'm not kidding about her odor. I couldn't smell jack.

Interesting that the Vortex don't smell. In search of low odor strains for stealth reasons. May have to try that one. How long do you veg for typically, whats your container size for flowering and how tall on average do your plants get?

I recommend checking it out. A lot of strains will stank up my whole place on harvest day, even when they're chopped inside the room. This girl didn't stank it up one bit.

I mostly use 8 gallon containers but I flower in everything from 1 gallon to 10. Veg times vary, when one goes down, another one goes in and I just pick the most mature vegging plant to pop into the flower tent. Height also depends on genetics but I have been vegging recently for long periods which seems like 6 weeks or more. Veg is slow under T5's and LED's so it gives me extra time to manage and train as the slowly get ready for flower. I strip everything under the tops all the way through veg until about a week before flower and just let the tops go, choosing how many tops I want and which branches I want to be colas. I just started this heavy pruning a couple months ago and its proving to work well for me. It keeps the vigor and plant energy at the tops and they mature more quickly and faster with a strong root base. I continue to strip some through stretch to remove what I figure will be airy or underdeveloped buds from lack of penetration under the canopy. Most of my plants stay under 3 feet at harvest, but I like them even shorter for max light penetration.

Nice!!!!!!

Thanks WhoD :joint: Still rocking the chili pepper spray on the vegging plants, seems to be keeping the mites away.

Finally back to a nice flowing garden since battling the borg last summer! I threw the kitchen sink at'em lol
