I Quit .. Day 1

I've made it 24 hours on my journey to quit smoking tobacco. I tried twice before so I have high hopes for ..the third time being the charm. I've saved some trimmings and am using them as something to puff on but they get me high, too...lol. I have increased my chances, I think, by slapping on a patch.
I have eliminated fattening munchies.... and took the dog on two long walks.
Any suggestions, ideas on coping with quitting?

Oh man! nicotine is the hardest!!! Hide all sharp objects and send your wife/gf on a 2 week vacation. Mr. H was a BEAR when coming off chew. But hasn't touched it for 22 years. I would suggest having a plan B to turn to when you get stressed. Seems that's when most start up again. Gum? I know that's lame. But some sort of plan B

You guys are funny. If I get crazy I'll come back and read them, again and again. :-D
So far, I feel relaxed and comfortable with my third attempt at quitting cigarettes. If I do start to feel homicidal maybe I'll order some Valium over the inet.
Thanks, kids and kudos to Mr Hookabelly.
Samantha... ;-)

I think Mrs Hookabelly was talking about her husband/bf so I gave him kudos for quitting chew. :-D
misinterpreted. my apologies. perhaps next time i'll read and comprehend... but i ran out of cigarettes about 30 hours ago, and since i can't afford any at the moment, i thought i might quit.... i'm a little distracted.

lol ;)

Good morning, Cat.... I am trying to quit because I think it was interfering my my ability to take long, deep puffs of pot....and I also got tired of those 30mi trips to buy ciggies. I am thinking about the money I'm saving by quitting cigs and growing my own pot. It is spuring me on to victory.
I wannabe like Mr Hookabelly ... 22 years tobacco free.♥

lol ;)

Good for you.......
I've been tobacco free for about 2 years after 28 years of use
I do think cold turkey is the best way to go.
And once more good luck S'MANTA I hope all goes well !

Don't do it unless you are totally committed. If you really don't want to then you're setting yourself up for fail.
Mrs H you are so right. I think this time I am ready for success.
OT54 good for you. Do you ever get the urge to smoke anymore? I dream for the day the addiction to tobacco no longer tortures my thoughts.

Keep going s'manta. I just remembered something that helps me when I fall off the wagon, and it would work w/ nicotine too: If you fall off, don't just say screw it… get back on the wagon. I tend to fall off and let the wagon keep rolling over my foot,. instead of just chalking it up to a slip up, and getting back on course.

Excellent advice for any lifestyle change.
