Yes the sample I ordered from Amelia Liu was a genuine AB bin for $40 shipped. I was shocked by that to be honest and I ordered a few more when she had more ABs in stock (the price jumped up to $42 ea) They also tested in range for ABs when compared against a known genuine AB. She sold out right away and the price dropped back down to $40 and the ad was changed, but she failed to change to picture that says AB. Also, the packaging was pitiful on the second batch I am surprised none were damaged. Just a single layer of bubble wrap wtf

i recall having been attracted to the Vero 29s, but i don't remember what convinced me to go with 2x 3070 instead of 3x Vero 29. Might have been something about efficiency, finding appropriate drivers... it's on these forums somewhere(?).

The efficiency was probably one of the biggest factors but now with the price drops of virtually the entire Vero line and with the reduced availability of AB's, at least in the states, it has started getting critical :)

Please, effin' DigiKey sent me my COBs wrapped in bubble wrap. Had to peel the wrap off them :finger:. One of them even had a fingerprint on them . Digkeys shipping department just might be the biggest bunch of dummies on the planet :finger::finger::finger:. Not only do you have to tell them EXACTLY how you want something shipped or they'll try to screw you over, now you have to tell the thieving inbred half-wits how to pack it :dunce:.

If you want to really piss them off, go to their integrated circuits section and order one of everything until you have a shopping cart of 50 dollars.. heheheh

They will send you each part individually wrapped in a plastic tube, with 2 rubber stoppers, inside a static bag with a printed label, inside another staticbag with the same exact printed label.

Start loading up your cart with a bunch of 20 cent chips. One of each please.

My digikey box stack is getting out of hand, never have seen a shady job from them. Always in static shielded bags. In fact, recently, I ended up with 2x free Vero 13's, because they picked one number wrong in the order, then overnighted the correct order.
Just my experiences, too bad to hear about some of the other orders.....I would have contacted them immediately and seen what they would have done....maybe they would have told you to "discard" them like they told me :) and then sent you replacements @FranJan :peace:

Had the same thing with my Cree CXA3590's and the packaging. I hope they don't mess up my next order. Maybe I'll call and place the order and tell them I'll be calling them back if the packing is done all cheap.

What in the hell have you got planned with $1700 worth of ceramic COBs?

Yes, digikey and mouser nose day shiz and make an effort with packaging. Aliexpress sounds terrifying.

Question: Has Fran always been this upset in general?

I just received my order from Amelia Liu this past week. The packaging was a small bubble wrapped envelope with the chips in the plastic top and bottom piece cut for the 2 chips I ordered. Yeah, its from China and took some time, but I got z4 bin for less than z2 price.

As far as the site being 'misleading' you have to understand that English isn't her first language. I promise you this: Her English page is far superior to anything I could produce in Mandarin. Its probably the same for you too. When I sent the message to ask which bin it was I had a response within hours. My experience with her wasn't bad at all. That being said I didn't order 1700 dollars worth of stuff. I ordered 80 dollars worth of chips. I can see using different packaging methods, but I can't justify what you received, Supra.
