Chip on Board is a technology that until recently (6 mos) was only used by DiY lighting enthusiasts. It just a way of being able to produce a lot of light power with only one connection instead of many connections.
So far there is only one company building with high quality cobs.....the optic vero.

We don't know what they use. On their main page they say they use Bridgelux. On their FAQ page they say they use "such as Bridgelux and Epistar."
That's the kind of clarity you'd expect from a company that deliberately steals the name of a reputable company.
Overpriced, rebranded Chinese lights. They use epiwhatver diodes.
On top of that, HydroGrowLED is distinguished by Cammie McKenzie's antics. She (was a he) does a lot of scammy stuff, posting under pseudonyms, silencing unhappy customers with threats of "grassing out."
Why spend a lot of money on lights that don't disclose the diodes nor spectrum?

i couldnt find any either but based on supraspl's cred i bought the OV 360. its been on the job just 9 days. plants are plainly loving the light. They are a few weeks into flower so i have nothing conclusive. Ill post pics soon. Any questions dont hesitate.

What I do not understand about "full spectrum" led lights is how is they are still photosynthetically efficient. My understanding is that with LEDs you can have many lights with specific wavelengths, thus eliminating unused spectrums by plants . Full spectrum seems counterintuitive to ideas of maintaining par effiency.
IMO, the emphasis on red/blue as "giving the plant only what it needs, being efficient" was from a time when whites were inefficient and/or too expensive to be viable. I think it was more a way to positively rationalize the limitation. "It's not a limitation, it's a benefit! Look at the PAR chart... we're giving the plant what it needs the most."
Then whites became more competitive and efficient. Suddenly "well, the plant does use green and yellow. Maybe not much, but we don't know how much that spectrum contributes to the plant's utilization of other spectra."
But, there seems to be a preponderance of opinion that all white can be improved (at least in flower) with monochromatic red (and maybe blue).

i dont get the white light idea entirely either. Since red and blue are component of white light and since a vero spectrum graph shows peaks near the same blue and red areas how exactly does the white light differ?
I have grown with the mars 3w leds and while the plants did flourish under them it seems the vero 29 elicits a more intense response.
As i said just a couple weeks into flower so nothing solid to contribute.

It's official. I returned my Platinum light. I got a refund. @az2000
I now have a couple options. I'm still trying to figure out matching drivers. Since we wire the COB's in series, I add the voltage to match up. Sometimes that voltage doesn't match up right. I also can't really tell the difference between HLG and HLG-C series.
Option 1.) Replace that light ($230) with a better light, for less money.
(1) HLG-60H-C700A (70 watts 90.6% efficient)
(2) Vero 18 5000K
(2) connectors
(2) Arctic Alpine 11 Plus
Around $90 plus other hardware PS etc. Around $140
Option 2.) Toss the T5. Build the best veg light I've ever owned.
(1) HLG-120H-C700A (150 watts 94% efficient)
(4) Vero 18 5000K
(4) connectors
(4) Arctic Alpine 11 Plus

I used a cell phone charger last time. Does anyone know a of a good power supply to power the fans? Do you need active cooling at 700mA?

How did you clone and what was your success rate? I have some in Jiffy pellets and its day 7; how much longer do you think before they take root?

These were rooted clones in veg. They were very happy under that light.
