Yeah, totally, but do any of them cost $70? I think it is a fine light for a first grow. And you can get frosty buds if you have decent genetics happening.
IMO watts and price of fixtures shouldn't be looked at when purchasing LED fixtures.(to a degree)
The goal should be to grow the most of the best..
The ROI of every fixture Ive ever bought? Paid for itself after first flower run with it. Doesn't matter if it was a 600 watt or a 88watt.
Sorry but a 100dollar LED fixture to me? = overpriced veg light that my old T8s do = or better

I don't know. I just see older than dirt tech selling for pennies on the dollar. Why? because its worth more selling them at low ,low prices like that .vs the alternative. sitting on them and never selling.
Most buy 1 then they see the light..

I hear you, and I agree that is a sane approach. I love my $100 T5s for Veg. Personally, I don't sell anything for security reasons, so it is a little harder to justify the cost up-front, though I know it will pay for itself quickly. I was spending $3000 a year on bags, I'll have a years supply at the end of my current grow. I'll be building a COB panel soon, but I'm still buying parts as I can afford it. I got the most expensive part; COBs! 6 x 3500k CXB3590s 72v CD bin. I'll have the COB light running by November, wish it was sooner, but I have to follow my budget or I will probably end up in Winnemucca smoking shitty coke. That's the sort of stuff that happens when I go off-script.

@JimmyIndica where can I buy those ZelionHL fixtures, I've looked around on Sylvania's dealer list and I don't see them anywhere. Sorry to derail your thread, FL dudeguy.

I'm on my first grow with a NL auto using that light in a 3x1.5x3.5 cab. I started on 6 CFLs then got the LED. They really perked up under the LED. Here are some pics.View attachment 3497012View attachment 3497013 View attachment 3497014 View attachment 3497015

Nice!!!! Looking really good!
How are you liking the NL auto grow? What soil, etc are you using?
I think you'll be pleased and HID in a space that small would be tough to manage for heat.
Keep your light as close to the plant as you can and still cover the whole plant, like 6-12 inches above, or maybe 18"-20" max.

I supplement with CFL, but you can see the parts of the plants under the LEDs are much more developed. This was just a moment ago:

They push close to 140! My 60x5 Mars lights are 137W approximately, I asked the Killawatt.

@That FL Guy - did you buy the white one, or is it black, or green? I'm curious which series you got. If it is white it is pretty old, and good news; it will still work.
The model I have is the white, older model. Looks like the same model you have. I know a few people say they are loud, cheap, etc.....From what I can see, looks like they are working well for you! :-)

Last time turned out pretty good too. Here's a slightly out of focus (sorry) post-cure pic of some Purple Wreck. My pheno isn't purple but it is pretty fuckin' dank.

I just want to throw in that I've found the Old School Mars 100x3 can burn plants at under 10", and I've read others say the same thing. So it might depend on the strain you are growing, some like LEDs, some are more sensitive to them. I would be careful going below 12" with them, on my run with it the tops of the big colas were 6-8" and they started to suffer from it. So I pulled it up to 12" until they recovered.

Good point, I think he got the 60x5 watter like I have, and I can run mine pretty close, but I'm sure some strains are more sensitive to the heat, that makes sense.

Yeah I have the white one with 5w LEDs. I don't notice it being loud, but it's also in a wooden cab so it insulates the sound a little. The pc fans I use for a diy carbon scrubber are louder.

Im sure there are better lighting sources out there, but I'm just growing for personal and this light seems to be doing a great job so far. Plus the learning curve is the fun part :bigjoint:

yeah I noticed a little damage only on the top cola leaves when my light was at less than 11", probably around 9". I now have it around 13" and it seems to be doing better
