Hey guys, I'm just making a grow journal for my new grow. It's actually my second one and I'm proud of it. I'm growing in 2/5 perlite/coco with Canna Coco nutrients and I am absolutely thrilled. The plants are growing twice as fast as my first grow, which I did in soil and they are super healthy. No signs of overwatering. My only mistake is that I wind burned my royal caramel with a fan too close. I hand water every day but I'm building an automatic watering system to be able to leave the apartment every once in a while.

So, to summarize:

Strains:
Dance world: 1:1 CBD THC sativa
Royal Caramel: Strong THC indica
Ak-47 x Critical: Bonus seed, I don't even know what to expect.

Medium:
2 parts perlite in bagged coco coir from Canna

Nutrients:
Canna coco A+B with Canna pk 13-14 for flowering

Water PH:
Between 6 and 6,5

Training:
Topping at 5 nodes and then LST

Lights:
5x mixed 3200 and 5500 kelvin 45 true watts CFL for vegetative period
100 true watts LED light from E.Shine system for flowering(about 100$ on alibaba, copy of more expensive Advanced platinum led lights http://eshinesystems.en.alibaba.com/product/1824330791-800482441/E_shine_3G_diamond_series_11_bands_50X3W_LED_grow_light.html )

Schedules:
Month 1: 16-8
Week 5 and 6: 12-1 (gas lantern method)
Flowering: 12-12

Environment:
30" wide by 14" deep cabinet with one vegetative chamber and one flowering chamber for perpetual harvest.

This post will be updated each week. Feel free to comment, it won't mess up the thread.

Thank you Cheapskate!

Here is the update of the week. The plants are still very healthy, I see a few pistils on the Ak critical and the Royal Caramel but not on Dance World. The plant you see hidden at the far left is a clone of dance world from last grow. The plants are tightly packed in the cabinet, I didn't expect them to stretch that much. I also built an automated irrigation system with a water tank, it will be a great time saver.7 weeks.jpg

Update of the week! My plants have been stretching really uncontrollably it's absolutely crazy. Is this normal? I had to raise the light right up to the top. Last grow I used a 10-14 schedule for flowering and the plants didn't stretch that much, you can see it in the first post. Anyway here it is! My Dance World Sativa has just started to flower, the Ak-critical plant was the first to bloom and the royal Caramel was the second one. I guess it's normal since they're both indica dominant white DW is sativa dominant. IMG_9297.jpgIMG_9295.jpg

Update of the week. It seems like the plants have stopped stretching a few days ago. I was really panicked because more than that and they would have reached the light. Today I added some PK 13-14 to the water tank. All the plants are flowering now, but the AK-Critical one is the most advanced. 9 weeks.jpg

nice grow, your girls all look very nice. subbed-i'm interested in the dance world and the royal caramel too. i've grown a few RQS strains (special queen #1, special kush #1, and a white widow). i liked the kush#1 and one pheno of the white widow was very good.

PS your first post on the thread wins RIU :leaf:BEST:leaf: post award in my book with the way you did your pictures  showing each strain week to week along with all pertinent grow information. bongsmilie (:

Thank you very much! So dance world is a very pleasant CBD sativa, it makes you feel good and still energized but you won't get fucked up or uncomfortably stoned on this. Royal caramel is a pretty strong indica. The first time I tried it I felt like my body was made of wavering spaghetti it was strange but cool. It's a true couchlock. In all honesty though I use almost only Dance World, whether it's in my day to day life, at parties and social events. Royal Caramel makes me feel way too spaced out to follow conversations. What's weird though is that Royal caramel doesn't make me as stoned when taken after Dance World than on it's own. Maybe it's the CBD of Dance World that prevents RC's full effects. It's just speculations of course.

Update of the week! Now close to 6 weeks11 weeks.jpg since 12-12. The plants are too close to the lights, I got some bleaching on the top buds. I put a diffusion plastic on the lamp to help soften the light. The buds are twice as big as next week. I feel like even though it was a problematic grow it will be a nice harvest.

Update of the week! I put some stakes in the pots and tied the stems to it so they don't all fall and flop. Buds keep growing, There's some orange pistils too. I think we'll be done in 4 weeks for most of them. 12 weeks.jpg IMG_9330.jpgIMG_9331.jpg IMG_9332.jpg IMG_9333.jpg

Update of the week: All the plants are doing fine, buds are swelling, pistils are getting orange, trichomes are getting milky. Critical 47 is the ripest yet. I aim for a late november harvest. 13 weeks.jpgIMG_9335.jpg IMG_9337.jpg IMG_9338.jpg IMG_9340.jpg

Update of the week: Nothing super exciting, the pistils are getting more and more orange white the buds still get bigger. The trichomes are translucent milky with no amber yet. I decided that I'll chop in irst week of december no matter what since I'll be gone for the holidays and I don't want to bring the curing jars with me everywhere to burp them every day. I encountered a few problems. I noticed a lot of tiny white bugs in the waste water below the pots, they are springtails. Also I have some bad white flies damage on the two vegging plants on the bottom shelf, I bought some insecticidal soap and I think I'll get rid of them. I don't worry too much about springtails since apparently they only eat fungus and decomposing matters. The white flies left my flowering plants alone, I'm really glad about that. I'm starting the flush today!

Yeah I was kinda panicked when I saw the bunch of springtails in the waste water. I thought I had a bad infestation of something that would fuck up my plants but they're supposed to be ok. I let the pots dry out for like 4 days and it seems better but I won't sorry too much about that. But I read that whiteflies were just as bad as spidermites. My insecticidal seems to be working though.

The smell is very strong. The two Dance World plants seem to have the milder smell. Royal Caramel and Critical 47 are very fragrant. It's kinda hard for me to differienciate the smell when they're all close to each other like that though. I have a proper carbon filter on top and it still smells a bit in the room, which is my bedroom. The smell leaks a bit in the apartment so I try to contain it. I have Ona Gel but if always gives me a terrible headache so I'd rather not use it.

How are you applying the insecticide? I had never herd of Ona Gel so did a qucik google and i wouldnt use that if i was you as it contanimates the buds and affects the taste and smell if its sharing the same air as cannabis plants but being outside the tent may be ok, here is where i read it http://www.growweedeasy.com/ona-gel-cannabis

Harvest happened yesterday on november 20! Here are a couple of beauty shots of the girls and the hung buds in the drying room. I would estimate about 3 oz of dry buds, is that reasonable?

First two shots are Royal Caramel, shot 3 and 4 are Dance World from two different plants, and last shot is Critical 47.
