I know. By having homegrows legal, they can then say they have not forced anyone to use a dg.

By only allowing lp types as dg's they can then say they provide approved meds as an alternative to home production. They can force people to obtain their meds from approved sources. Those sources could then have rules written so strict only current lp's would meet the restrictions.

They can do it, I'd bet they will as a short term solution to lp's to ensure a supply they will need for a rec market and to protect the millions of investments.

This is not restricting access because everyone will have the legal ability to self produce.
Thatd bring us full circle back to restriction of access. By once again making who is a DG based basically on who has the most money. Stricter the rules, pricier the set up, higher the overhead. Face it, LPs lost a lot of traction with this ruling. All they could come up with was more restrictive solutions. Cant say i feel sorry for them OR their gullable investors. Hope they all lose their shirts

I don't feel sorry for them, but I do believe this is just a minor bump in the road.
I agree they will take a hit, some may fold, for others who ride it out, this is a windfall.

No one is lp touting.
We just see they aren't going away.

So if a huge corporation like SDM decided they wanted in on sales, where would they buy product? It won't be from gorilla growers, undocumented businesses or the BM.

They will only be able to purchase from gov controlled and regulated sources, those sources are the current lp's and newcomers who follow the same rules.
And we' re simply saying that LPs are no longer the ONLY show in town. That goes for your mention of LP only DGs

Hi.

Yesterday we introduced Tweed’s 10:1 Cannabis Oils to our customers after receiving our oils sales license from Health Canada. Although we’ll be selling this new line of products at noon today, I’m writing to you now to discuss something else, the decision in Allard et al. v Canada, or simply “Allard.”

As I’m sure many of you know, the Federal Court ruled yesterday that certain aspects of the MMPR regulations, the regulations that govern Tweed and all Licensed Producers, do not adequately give patients sufficient access to the medicine we produce. The court has given the federal government six months to address the shortcomings of the program in its current form.

Today I want to assure you that Tweed isn’t going anywhere. Regardless of the regulatory changes, we are optimistic that any changes to the MMPR system will improve your ability to get the medication you rely on, in a way that meets your needs.

Even though the details won’t come for many months, I wanted to take the chance to reassure you, our valued customer, that Tweed will still be here to provide a truly diverse product line and compassionate service to top it off. As the industry evolves we will work hard to continue to provide you with the products and services you've come to expect from our team. You have many producers to choose from and we never take for granted that you continue to choose Tweed as your trusted supplier.

The road ahead excites us and we hope you share the same sense of optimism.

Here’s to Future Growth (Still).

The gov is forced to create new rules again.

I'm speculating that financial interests and investments in legal business will be supported and somewhat protected in the new set of rules.

They CAN and might force dg's to invest into facilities that match the current lp model under new rules.

They can provide a list of "approved" dg's who meet their criteria and completely eliminate dg's on the home scale. They still provide a selection of growers who a person would designate and allow people to self produce.

It's not ideal, but it's far more feasible than the gov allowing lp's to fold completely.

Free market, no special protection for investments. No such thing. Just curious as to how you think that would work exactly? And on what basis? Millions are lost everyday to bad investments, c'est la vie. Too bad so sad. Kiss it GOODBYE

There is no free market as it is. There won't be until rec, even then it will be controlled out the ass.

I've already explained in detail why I believe this may come to pass and how it may be instituted.

They get to rewrite the rules, but must accommodate both home grows and lp's. Of course they will help protect the interests of legal business.

I'd say the explosion is in folks laughing and running away from the forced captors they had been given. They ( LP's ) just got fucked royally....it's plain as day.
people grow.
when others realizes they're no different than the next person
This is hurting LP's as things stand and as long as the feds sit on their plans.

But... to keep the craft alive... all us dinosaurs should be passing on the skills anyway...
I was hooked up late last month (through friends) with a fella who has terminal cancer and his friends are just framing his grow now and I'll be showing him the ropes. First visit was 4 weeks ago and his pain has been under control since then. :) Some fudge and some buds and he's a happy camper. Pay it forward.

Tell him not to listen to the doctors/diagnosis and consume as much MJ (edibles) as he can handle. I was told I had 6-12 months... 6 years ago next week ;) Good for you for helping out, we all need a hand up from time to time.

I'll never turn my back however I frequently find myself without meds as a result. Going to put up a 10 x 20 greehouse this year so there's some left over for me lol.
