A Gram Per Watt? How?

I have 2 cabinets going with 2 plants in each, cycling so I have 2 to 3+ ounces every 2 weeks. It isn't perfect since some strains take longer to finish and that throws the cycle off.
But do you ever have an issue of say "running out" of stock"? lol

Personally I also think it's a good way to test or try different strains. There is a lot of poor genetics out there.

How does that work? Doesn't make sense unless I'm missing something here if your running 4 plants only at a time

What do you think takes longer to grow?

a single 16oz plant

or 16x 1oz plants?

or better yet, let's say you have the room for 16 plants in 1 gallons, pushing 1 oz a plant. You can delay cycle 4 plants every 2 weeks.

Then come harvest time, you'll be harvesting a qp every 2 weeks. That's the major benefit of running multiple small plants, you're constantly harvesting and cycling plants.

A 1 pound plant, requires a lot of veg time, and some people don't want to sit around or rely on a single huge harvest to get them by till next harvest. That's what outdoor growing is for.

My setup doesn't allow me to do such a cycle, but if I could I'd much rather harvest a QP every 2 weeks instead of a pound every 4+ months.
Well it depends on the strains, and alot of other factors, I normally get 4-5 oz dried from a 6 week veg but got some as high as 7-8oz on these 2 blue dream, do you even fully let them grow because if you pull them early even if you can grow more in it's place doesn't give you the full amount you should be getting vs waiting till they fully were done in flower, because most plants require a few week veg for them to develop properly, I wish I could find exactly where I seen it at but there was some things backing it up.. ,

But I would rather get 20 plants that yield 4-5 oz, then to do 20 and get 1 oz.. I can do it off the same amount of lighting too, I only use a 600 to veg all my plants under and a 1000 and 600 to flower 24 of them under, and maybe even a few more

You just keep cycling new plants in, every so often, you figure out how often it takes to flower and you want to veg for and you start adding plants every XX weeks, So if you want to crop out 4 plants a month, you would want to make sure when your flower'd plants are done that you have some you have already going in veg to replace them you can't get the timing down perfect but you can get a week give or take once you get the hang of things, the more plants you do the harder it's going to be and the more room your going to need, like I plan on cropping out 10 every month, so I want to have 10-15(incase some die or you have issues with them) going from veg to flower room when they are done, and clones or seeds ready to start putting in the veg room, kinda gets a little confusing but once I get it going It shouldn't be too hard, it just doesn't work out when a plant you have flowering is supposed to be done in 8 weeks but takes 10 now your veg plants are going an extra 2 weeks which could cause problems if you don't have room, but them are just some of the factors you can come into play or to be safe, always make sure you give it an extra 1-2 weeks time to flower incase it ever does go longer, so there is a 1-2 week gap you have going in the veg-flower room, plus you have to also dry, and trim it so remember your going always make sure you got time to do that and lots of space to dry, hang and cure if you plan to have quite a few going.

Separate veg areas, I start one every 2 weeks and have the 2 plants in each cabinet at different stages of flower, off by a month. So 1 plant is a month into flower and the one beside it which is 2 months into flower gets cut and replaced by a freshly vegged plant. Understand? It's a better use of space as the older one gets to crowd the area before harvest and just as the younger one is getting too crowded it's given extra space. It seems to work out better with personal cabinet grows.

Grow out 4 plants that yield 12 zips under a 600W light. Take into consideration the longer veg time. Now take into consideration the plants are taller due to longer veg times and your lower canopy wont get the light the top canopy does so the yield of the lowers will be smaller larfy popcorn buds.

Now grow out 20 small 10" plants in SOG to achieve the same 12 zips under the same 600W light. Your veg time is a fraction of the larger plants and the canopy is fully saturated so there is no larfy popcorn buds on the bottom. ALL TOP COLAS, and you did it in a fraction of the time as the 4 large plants that took 4 weeks longer to veg.
Now calculate time vs yield for both scenarios over a 1 year period and you will find that the sog will produce significantly more weight by the end of the 1 year. Smaller doesnt necessarily mean less. The sog means less time for equivelant or better yields and more chances to try different strains for some variety vs growing out larger plants.

I grow for myself (and freebies for family/friends). I would certainly run sog if plant count here in MI weren't an issue.

Ok thanks guys for the lesson in perpetual growing :o! But not to be picky, but you did say 4 plants, 2 cabinets and a harvest every 2 weeks so no doesn't make sense unless you have some super fast finishing plants, are they autos? I'm dealing with two rooms now and trying to set up a schedule now and that's why I'm asking. I'm in the process of figuring out how many trays I need and I know I need more than 4 trays to make it work every two weeks and I'm thinking 8 or more for a two week harvest and a tray can be thought of as a plant. But yes now that I read you have a seperate veg area it makes a bit more sense.

I think they mean that the plants being brought from the veg room to the flower room are staggered 2 weeks apart. They are vegged ahead of time in another room in preparation for the flowering room. This way when you pull out the row that has been flowering for 8 weeks and is ready to harvest, you put in a new row that is 2 weeks behind the last set you put in and so on. Then you will be harvesting every 2 weeks. You can stagger them any way you like though. I have mine set up on 4 weeks to allow for a longer veg time in the veg room before they go in the flower room. I have 2 sets of plants- 2 @ 4 weeks in flower and 2 that were just brought out from veg room and put in flower. 4 weeks from now, I'll pull the 2 that are ready to harvest, put the other 2 that are now at 4 wks flower in place of the ones I just harvested and bring another 2 from the veg room and put them into the flower room. Continuing like this allows me to Harvest 2 plants every 4 weeks once the schedule is established :)

Well like I said I'm struggling with this myself and the two room 4 plant thing threw me but yes I get it, more than two rooms :). I tried to do it with just a flower and veg room and couldn't do it because the veg plants got way to tall waiting for the flowering room to finish so then it was ....fuck I need another room :(.

Some interesting thoughts on a marginally ridiculous topic. Thanks, you guys, for making it interesting!

Grams per watt is a tiny datum that may be accounted for alongside other data, but never alone. That's my stance on it.

Other factors to compare: Grams per area, or volume, of grow space. Total Cannabinoid counts, retained moisture (how dry is dry?), time to harvest, growing methods, growing environment, strain specific attributes, trim tolerances aka how much stem and how much leaf is left on the "dried" flowers, all of these are among the data that augment or diminish the qualitative value of a simple gpw calculation. Without context it is a useless number.

I'd love to see pics of a 3 day veg, what are you getting a quarter a plant?
Oz per plant. Pick a pheno that works with your growing style. Plants grow vigorously and stack hard during stretch. The little 3-6 inch clone will b 24-30 inches in about 28 days into flower.

I don't understand the debate on growing styles(SOG bs Scrog). If the canopy is the same idc if it's from one plant or 36. The yields will be the same. These plants don't have an age where they produce better. If the plant says it's a 9/10 yielder, it doesn't care if it's life span was 60 days or 120, the genetics are the same. For those who say "bigger roots bigger fruits" well, let's add all the root mass from the smaller plants together and compare it to the root mass from larger plants. Bet there isn't much difference.

SOG is hard to commit to the first time, then you'll never go back.

I asked how with only 4 plants and two rooms, not how to run perpetual lol. But hey thanks for all this.

Right, right, I should have clarified that I have 2 flowering cabinets that handle 2 plants each. Each at various stages of flower. Let's say 1, 3, 5 and 7. The week 1 and week 5 are together and the week 3 and week 7 are together. I actually veg in 2 spacebuckets which are pretty handy for veg.
