I'm on my third run with it... have done the 20 day defoliation today. I was making a timelapse but the damn camera couldn't handle multiple gigabyte movies and kept crashing after about 5-6 days so I gave up.

In a nutshell it can hurt yields if not done properly but done well the yields and quality are great (1900g from 1200w of COBs on the last run and I'm still figuring it out as I didn't actually buy the book). The timing of the defoliation is strain dependent IMO. You need plants vegged longer before you flip to flower than if you were not defoliating. You also need to be selective about defoliating the smaller fan leaves. I think I have it sussed out but I can't say for sure until this run is done.

Give me 4 weeks and I'll post up some finished pics.

G-13, Blue Dream, Blue Mango and a bunch of personal crosses. 12, 9 liter pots of coir in a 4x4. 25 day veg under MH, 63 days of flower under a 600 HPS. Feeds between 1 to 4 per day depending on size, nutrient strengths between 350-400ppm.
Really that only comes to about 1.4 grams per watt, so it's not like it's an outrages number.
There's no way you hit 2lbs of dry product

Maximum yield is usually around 45 g/sq ft. 3 lb in 25 sq ft would be almost 55 g/sq ft. Seems unlikely that would be possible. More like 2.5 lbs max. You see a lot of growers mention how many grams per watt they get, but if you calculate it out by square footage it will come back to about 45 g/sq ft. That's exactly what I got last time, 200 g from a 3'x1.5' space. Work it out, 200 divided by 4.5 sq ft = 44.44 g/sq ft.

That's going by canopy space, think of it in 3D , or i have 16sq.ft of canopy but 30" of penetrating depth. I can get 720 grams from my 4x4 with 10 plants in the room

how do you cram 10 plants in a 4x4? guess i like to grow shrubs, be lucky to fit 6 of my plants in a 4x4 when they're in full flower
I usually do 12 , 4 rows of 3. 9 liter square pots, cola dominant plants as shown in my post. Dr. Greenthumbs G-13 after around 6 years of cloning clones of clones. no mother plant.

what about when one adds a scrog/trelis? that adds to sq ft yes?

Well she is pretty deficient in some areas it seems ..... so she didn't reach her full potential. She may have well produced 448 or close... did she receive enough sunlight? Any clue of the DLI she received ?

By the way not bagging on u at all .... very rarely do i see a complete in-deficient plant from seed/clone to harvest.
