Thanks hybrid way I appreciate that. TBH I love the sound of LED because I live in the U.K. and heats signature can be a problem as well as in the room. I have heard however that they are still not yet a match for HPS in terms of light intensity, spectrum and of course the end product we all endeavour towards. I have also heard that as a result of the amount of energy the cultivation industry in the USA is now using it has sparked interest in developing more efficient and ultimately better lighting for this end so hopefully so, all interesting stuff eh. Anyhoo until I learn that LED can match HPS and give me the same returns I'm afraid I would be too fearful to go for it.
I do want to get my grow up for yous fellas to maybe hav e look andgive me any guidance and advice I may require, would be great.

Stop by my thread. I'd be happy to go over anything you may have questions about n clarify where led stands as of now in comparison to HPS. Also, If I can help w/ anything pertaining to your plants or grow, I'd be happy to.

If you stop by, I can direct you to my earlier threads comparing the 2 (HPS/LED) in my trail runs as well as my results In a side by side using a burplish light vs. an enhanced white light.
Converted 8k in HPS to 4,500 watts in led to get a higher yeild & cut my electric bill directly in 1/2. Increased quality & terps too! Doubled my average GPW while slightly increasing my G/sq'.
Led has taken the lead over HPS now. Of course it all depends on the LEDs you use though as there are still plenty of Fugazee ones on the mkt presenting false & misleading claims.
I learned a heck of allot from reading this led section. So much knowledge to obtain. The more you understand, the better off you'll be when/if you decide to make the switch. Some cool peeps over here that love to explain the technology being used in LEDs today. Tons of info already laid out in existing threads.
Any grow store you go to & mention LEDs, they'll usually tell you they are only good for supplemental. Well, for one, most of them don't know, for 2, they would lose a ton of $ on one of their biggest selling items. T-5 & HPS bulbs. The only people that can really tell you the truth are those who've used HPS & Good LEDs to know the difference first hand.

Sounds grand I will stop by for sure. And LED is now surpassing HPS you say ? That really is good news to my ears I must do some further investigations on that, and also I absolutely must have a look at a side by side comparative grow you mentioned, grand. Thanks will drop in soon.

Your last grow really opened up my eyes on these QB's. Highly considering a few. Maybe I can break my DIY cherry finally.

Thank you! Never put lenses on these. Not needed in my size space imo.

I'm going to start a new thread for an 80 and 90cri QB side by side sog grow.
Should be going into flower a month from today.
As much as I want to flip and scrog this tent right now I'd rather do a sog of the pheno I'm favoring so far at day 60 under my Titan. The #2 pheno up front in this tent. And the one in the middle is another #2 I just transplanted a few days ago.
While it's much less of a yielder than the #1, it reeks of sour funk and I like the bud structure on it the best plus it rooted real easy and should be done in 70 days not to mention it's a frost monster.
The #1 looks to be insane as well. Complete sour fox taily structure and chunky AF with more of a kush heavy nose but easily an 11 weeker and finicky with the calmag which is the downside. I'm keeping a mom just in case it turns out to be a true headbanger and my buddy's throwing the back right one outside to rock for the season.

I do miss scrogging but I'm very anxious to do another sog from rooted clone, 3 to 5 day veg max. I really like the size and quality of the buds with sog style. You can't beat the speed of it all once you get everything dialed in perpetually.
Besides supporting them and having to feed each pot separately by hand it's rather easy and trimming is a breeze plus popcorn and larf are a thing of the past.

It will be an identical side by side of the same cut (as long as all my cuts root) space, media, right down the 6" hyperfans and kitchen utensil holders that keep my pots out of the run off and roots breathing easy :)

hi @NapalmD ! tell me what's your room temp and the tent temp @ full 240w? i wanna know how much the temp raise with lights on. i'm going for 3 boards @ 250w total.

@NapalmD Hey man, your grows are real nice, a real inspiration for my SOG efforts under these QBs. Quick question, how and when are you pruning those clones with alternating nodes in preparation for flower? I aim to keep my plants under 35" and it seems counter productive to do any trimming, but id like to have single cola baseball bats and take cuts from the very bottom of the SOG plants right before they go into flower. I'll be running 4 different strains from heavy indica to pure sativa. I know with 4 strains SOG uniformity will be a bitch but I'm pheno hunting right now so its temporary. Thanks in advance!

At 240w the tent only goes about 4 to 5 degrees above room temp.

The first sog I took the rooted rapid rooters and put them directly into the 1 gallon pots and flipped to flower within 3 days and that pretty much guarantees a solid single cola. The next so I attempted the plants had 10 days or more of veg time and had too much side branching for a true sog.
So the quicker you flip the better. You really won't be able to take cuts using this style. Because your essentially flowering cuts right away.

Awesome more QB threads! I'm before upgrading my lights in my small 2x2 tent and I plan a 150w veg lightning and a 150w flowring 2700k lightning, both QB boards too.
Have my own thread but i'll post result sand progress here too, seems like a good idea to focus QB threads.

These plants look healthy AF NaplamD! if they could smile they would, how close do these boards can get to the canopy ? do they heat up the area a lot or not at all ? on a scale of 1-10 lol

I'm doing 4 plants in 2 gallon pots of Nutrifield coco/perlite and gs2 Growstones fed Jacks 321.5, Ful-Power and Mammoth P during flower.

I used two phenos each of the #1 and #2 Headbangers since they look like the all around winners out of the 4 I popped.
Once rooted I put the rapid rioters in solo cups for about 5 days and transplanted into the 2 gallon pots today.

They will get at least a 3-4 week veg and will get topped once to really fill the screen with fat bud sites. No lowers or larf allowed.

The clones looked pretty rough last few days and the leaves had a type of variegation I guess you can call it where they started to look brittle and sick and dried/curled up, but the last batch did the same thing after transplant and turned out fine so far. Just takes them a bit to grow out if it.

Starting them at 150w and am keeping the lights nice and distant to get them stretching.
Will go up to 200w week 1 of flower and ultimately 240w again 2 weeks after that.

Join the ride. Haven't been under a screen in a few months. Couple that with my new favorite and reigning champ in lighting and this grow should rock the house!

They can literally kiss the boards but just play around with it till you find the sweet spot. Last run I kept them within 1 to 3" away but that was overkill.

could you clarify for us voyeurs what exactly these lights are?

pic 1 looks like 4 QB's. and you are running at 60 watts per. correct so far?

is 60w about middle ground for how hard you can run them?

Question and this isn't me talking shit ok.......the girls look yellow and hungry? My chemdogging seems the same way and it's like I can't feed enough. Is this what you're experiencing? Mine is in no till organic but even the kelp and Fish Fert........I feel like I'm leaving gains on the table............

My impression is QBs may beat almost anything for vegging. I do like how burples red and blues some how added could throw off more nodes.

It seems like QB's can veg slightly faster too. I have not seen someone here throw down big numbers flowering with QBs. I want to test a 4 panel rig against a SE Hydrofarm vented that I currenty have.

Correct, 4 boards ran off a HLG-320H-C2800A dimmed down to 200w in the pic.

Thank you. Definitely vegges just fine.
They are starving man lol last few feedings I did half feed and half plain tap testing the waters. No good. Basically each pot would get 32oz of feed twice per day. So I tried the first 32oz of feed then a few hours later 32oz of plain tap.
I did that the past week under my Titan which is just fine for a plant ending flower but not so good for a growing plant. It wasn't even about saving food because it's dirt cheap. I just always believed in the less is more approach but in this case they need a little more :D
