Stephen Hawking says mankind has 100 years left on Earth. Thanks, Steve.

Lol, Quora is your source of information?

No wonder you're so ignorant (I mean that in the "lacking knowledge" definition)...but ignorance can be overcome.

Tell the people in the 60's that one day you'd carry a device in your pocket capable of gigabytes of solid state storage, with a battery capable of 24 hours use on a 60Mb wireless internet connection and with more processing power than the entire US space program (at the time) and they'd think you were on acid, man.
that's google for you

yeah I make phone calls on mine,
mmmmm acid yummmm

What the fuck is wrong with humans? Where the fuck we going to go? If we fuck up life on this planet, which we have, then we're fucked. There is no living in outer space. LOL What makes humans think we could live in space when we can't even live on a giant ass planet without fucking shit up.
ideally we treat earth right explore space and go be care takers else where in the future. we will run out of time on something so sooner than later is better. plus you like your cell phone camera right.? what about the Clean Energy Technology we have on earth.? or Affordable solid state electronics. or maybe you enjoy
Scratch-Resistant Lenses
CAT Scans
Firefighter breathing apparatus
emergency blankets\ Mylar
Safer runways
The potential to preserve priceless art/polyamides
improved Car crash technology
Plane wing-tips
Freeze-dried meals
Baby food nutriant additive
Battery-powered thermal boots
Hang gliders
’Anti-gravity’ treadmill
Heat-absorbing sportswear
lasers
Life support
Detection of forest fires
Chromosome analysis
The self-righting life raft
NASA has contributed quite a lot to the development of water purification technology
all this and more came from space exploration and space programs

The complete list is of course much, much longer.

Unfortunately we do not live in an ideal world and we're burning through the resources here at utterly unsustainable rates.

My personal bet is that we'll only manage to send a relatively tiny number of people into space before we start yet another war and bomb each other back into the Stone Age, part deux.

They will be unable to help at first for fear of being drawn in and as time goes on, increasingly unwilling.

The fate of at least 99% of humanity is sealed, because we're too greedy and selfish as a species to rein in our excesses, certainly not in time to avert disaster.

And yet the Earth will recover and there will probably be new life then...

Humanity needs to just start doing the right thing and get over itself; we'll kill ourselves but realistically we can't ever really irreparably destroy the planet.

Who knows? Maybe the oil we burn now is the remains of a previous civilisation like modern humans?

I need to stop smoking so much before bed.

Humanity needs to get over itself? Put down the joint or stop typing.

George Carlin has already told us the planet will be fine; that's no consolation for our kind.

We will likely not feel warmly paternalistic about resetting the evolutionary clock back to rodents, so maybe we should fucking get to work on solving the problems of leaving this Earth and living far, far away.

Unless we "get over ourselves" and work together we'll end up just ruining other places in the solar system and our progress will be meagre.

That's progress!
The only place we differ is you demand dramatic leaps and I think the way to advance is to make small progressive changes to change the perception of normal for the next generation.

You can't really change people but we can influence the next generation before they get set in their ways.

Hence legal pot, Obamacare, etc.

Another example; to most 11 year olds Climate Change is just an unquestionable fact.

I just wonder when dude sleeps. It's not hard to notice his post times. Why is he so unwilling to address it? Kind of hard to take a tweaker serious.
Ask anyone who knows me. I'm as far from a tweaker as you can get.

Perhaps you're just jealous in your intellectual laziness, and mistake drive for something else.

Not surprising, since you've never actually had any.

You stay up all night, every night. That's not having drive, that's tweaking.

It's the highest expression of his feeble mind.

If you spent half the time and effort doing good that you spend spewing your worthless opinion you might actually make it somewhere in life.

Cry some more about how unfair life is to you. Do it at 3 am though. That's when it means the most. lol
