Millionaire Donor Threatens Democratic Party: “If They Go Far Left, I’m Out”

I know this may come as a surprise to someone so disablingly narrow minded but you can be wealthy and a leftist.

You know what wealthy leftists hate?

People who attack them for their wealth...so why donate to a party that attacks you based entirely on your bank balance instead of your character?

I understand this and I'm way to the left of you fake Bernie Socialists.

Why would you think I would think progressives can't be wealthy?

You don't.. You know I know progressives can be wealthy. You also know that I don't discriminate against people because they are wealthy. This is nothing but a distraction from the actual point being made in order for you to try to shame actual progressives for levying the legitimate criticism against wealthy individuals who buy politicians thereby affecting political policy. The only thing I have against wealthy people is if they fund political campaigns in exchange for access or priority. That subverts democracy.

Wow.. Fuckin'... Wow!..

The Democratic party is not supposed to cater to "wealthy leftists". They're supposed to represent their constituents interests. Their constituent base is made up of working class people, people of color, women, LGBT people and otherwise disenfranchised voters. Not fuckin' rich donors like Cloobeck.

I understand this and I'm way to the left of you fake Bernie Socialists.
You're sitting here defending a rich donor buying Democratic politicians in order to shift policy towards his interests at the expense of average Americans who vote Democratic.

Absolutely shameful.

i mean, why wouldn't we want to keep getting big donations from very ethical left wing donors?
"Very ethical"

Dumbass

Donors donate to get what they want. They don't donate because "they're ethical". They expect a return on their investment, because that's exactly what it is, an investment. You can see that in Cloobeck's responses. He expects something. The Democratic party isn't delivering on it. So if they continue down that path, and he doesn't get what he paid for, he won't be paying for it anymore. He'll "leave the party". Some convictions, eh?

If he would have called you a dumb ass, or told you to eat cum, which is a weird fucking insult to lob at someone, you would have slipped into your usual spiel about how you won the debate, weak minds. lack of substantive blah, blah, blah.

Does this mean you have in fact you have loss the debate and are weak minded and lack substance or are you, on this, like most things, a massive hypocrite?

Also

edit: Seriously though, how can anyone have a conversation with you when your fat ass keep leaving to jerk off?

People like Cloobeck and his wealthy friends are going to leave the Democratic party if they don't give him what he paid for; lower taxes
So Cloobeck is going to leave the party?

Is that why a couple of weeks ago he said:

"We will do what is best for the state because we would like to see a Democrat in Carson City," he said.

So he's leaving the Democratic party if he doesn't get lower taxes? Why did post this on his twitter account yesterday?

The #GOPTaxPlan raises taxes on middle class families and impacts ALL of America's working people. We can and must stop it! #GOPTaxScam

or this?

Republicans like @SenDeanHeller are desperate to take away health care from thousands of working people…not on my watch!

or this?

AG Adam Laxalt sold us out to the gun lobby! He refused to implement background checks, even though we voted for it. #enoughisenough

are you mad because he insinuated Bernie might not be that bright?
Replying to @sjcloobeck
@SenSanders Senator are u that stupid to say what you said in this article. WE are the party of aspiration! Everyone should be able to make as much as they want. Not discourge that embrace it. If they don’t then we will help them with a living wage.

When he says we, who do you think he's talking about?

Cloobecks rant proves Democratic donors like him actually control the narrative and direction of the party,
If he controls the narrative why does he do interviews saying he doesn't like the narrative? If he controls the direction of the party, why, as you say, is he going to leave? You can't have it both ways kiddo. That only makes you good at hypocrisy and not the substantive debate you like to imagine you're having.

Pad simply can't stop talking about what other people are thinking. It's a dysfunctional form of projection.

What a moron.
Cloobecks rant proves Democratic donors like him actually control the narrative and direction of the party, not Democratic constituents, as progressives have been saying for years. Even people like Pelosi admit "it's unfortunate" how fundraising is done, but that's just the way it is, tacitly agreeing with the progressive position on campaign finance reform.

Yet people like you and Buck continue to deny it, as if Democratic politicians are the only voice who represent the people in Washington

for once, try reading a whole sentence objectively. Go back to the original post and listen without projecting your own thoughts onto it.

From: https://thepolitistick.com/major-democrat-donor-stephen-cloobeck-dems-dont-stop-class-warfare-rhetoric-im-done-video/

Here's a transcript without your emphasis:
“When Democrats continue to say, ‘Down with the billionaires! We can’t stand the rich!’ a lot of people want to be rich,” Ruhle asked Cloobeck. “So is it the right message that the Democrats are going with?” she asked.

“It’s so effin’ wrong!”

“Whoa!” interrupted a stunned Ruhle.

“I’ve talked to Schumer, I’ve talked to Wyden, I’ve talked to Pelosi and I said, ‘If you use the term billionaires again, I’m done.’”

“Why?” a curious Ruhle inquired.

“Because it’s aspirational,” Cloobeck answered. “I didn’t start with anything. Just penalize everyone that’s done well? We all want to do well. And we should be the party of doing well. We should be a party of business and leadership. And it is very, very disturbing when I hear the ‘billionaire’ or ‘millionaire’ word. And I told them to stop it, knock it off. Because everyone wants to do really well. And this is the world of aspirations,” he said.

“And are you worried that the Democratic Party goes too far to the left?” Ruhle then asked.

“So much so it drives me nuts!” Cloobeck said with passion. “So much so it would make me quit the party. And I’ve made it very clear, I’ll cut your money off. And others will do the same. We’ve had enough,” he expressed.

Now let me move on to your idiotic post where you claim something that is not anywhere in that interview:

The whole interview belies your belief of big money donors "like him" control the party. He is FRUSTRATED with the direction the Democratic party is taking. Does that sound like a man in control? It sounds like typical fucking big time executive who is used to having his way and is not. It sounds like a man who is threatening because he ISN'T having his way.

Cloobeck's rant can be interpreted several ways. The only way it can't be interpreted is that Cloobeck is having his way with the Democratic Party.

Why is he still funding the Democratic party or issuing this threat if he isn't getting what he's paid for?

He's getting what he paid for (that's why the Democratic establishment doesn't support universal healthcare, a living wage, or paid vacation time, etc. even though the overwhelming majority of Democratic voters do and the majority of American voters, including Independents and even Republicans, do), he simply recognizes the turning progressive tide and is issuing a preemptive threat that if the Democratic party moves further to the left on economic issues, he's out, he and his rich donor friends will stop funding the party.

I happily tell Cloobeck to kick rocks. The Democratic party will be better without you

Can you honestly claim you feel the same way in regards to wealthy donors who feel entitled to the direction of the party like Cloobeck? I seriously doubt it.

Rather than parse a disaffected billionaire's complaint about how the Democratic Party isn't doing his bidding as proof that the Democratic Party is doing his bidding, I submit the following as proof that Republicans are doing the bidding of very happy billionaires

Senate Republicans Shove Tax Bill Ahead; Spending Fight Erupts
https://www.usnews.com/news/top-news/articles/2017-11-28/senate-tax-drama-intensifies-as-bill-faces-key-panel-vote

WASHINGTON (Reuters) - U.S. Senate Republicans rammed forward President Donald Trump's tax cut bill on Tuesday in an abrupt, partisan committee vote that set up a full vote by the Senate as soon as Thursday, although some details of the measure remained unsettled.

As disabled protesters shouted, "Kill the bill, don't kill us," in a Capitol Hill hearing room, the Senate Budget Committee, with no discussion, quickly approved the legislation on a 12-11 party-line vote that left Democrats fuming.

Republican committee members quickly left the room after the vote as Democrats complained about a lack of discussion on a bill that would overhaul the U.S. tax code and add an estimated $1.4 trillion to the $20 trillion national debt over 10 years.

The White House called the committee action "an important step toward passing historic tax relief and reform."

^^^What kind of twisted pretzel logic is that?

He's complaining about the direction the Democratic party is taking and you claim that means he's getting what he's paid for? WTF?

The problem today isn't Democrats, it's Republicans who are about to cut taxes for the very rich and make everybody else pay for them.
